Chapter 146
- Alpha Alexander’s POV
- As the morning light filtered through the curtains, I found myself wrestling with a decision: whether or not to go see Vanessa. The night had been long and exhausting, spent patrolling her apartment to ensure Alfie didn't return. Despite my fatigue, the sense of duty and protectiveness over Vanessa had kept me vigilant. I don't want her facing any sort of discomfort. I haven't been there to protect her for a long time, and I want to be there for her now.
- I knew Alfie was my son and inherently wouldn't harm her, but their interaction yesterday had been tense. The way Vanessa had recoiled, the fear in her eyes, and the clear message that she didn't want him around were all etched vividly in my mind. Vanessa was my mate, and I would do anything to protect her, even if it meant keeping my own son at bay. He has no business being around my mate, especially when she doesn't feel safe having him around.
