• Vanessa’s POV
• I paced back and forth in the bathroom, my mind racing with disbelief. Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I began talking to myself, overwhelmed by the thoughts I couldn't share with anyone else. After all, I couldn't exactly tell my best friend that her father was my mate.
• "Okay, yes, I am shocked," I muttered, words spilling out in a breathless rush. "I mean, what the hell? Alpha Alexander is the next Alpha King?" My voice rose with incredulity, echoing the disbelief churning inside me.
