• It was now time for Jake to finally choose his ultimate destination for college education. He and his mother had earlier narrowed down their preferred choices to the three highest-ranking schools that had offered him scholarships. Now, they would have to pick one out of the three.
• His mother brought up the topic while they were lounging in the sitting room one evening. Sarah had been scrolling through the channels on TV, looking for what to watch, but the moment she heard Rosa bring up the topic, she quickly lowered the volume of the television, not only to avoid distracting them but also to enable her hear what they were going to say.
