Chapter 15 Fifteen
- With his back resting against the headboard of his bed, Jake had his earphones on, enjoying the sound effects of the action game he was playing on his phone. Playing mobile games were one of his favourite activities. He could be engrossed in them for hours on end – that is, if his mother was not at home of course. Since Sarah was just a housekeeper and not a nanny, she usually turned a blind eye to much of what he did.
- All of a sudden, a dark shadow fell over the doorway. Jake noticed it, but he didn't bother to look up. He knew his door was wide open. Perhaps the shadow was caused by the curtain getting blown down by the wind. But little did he know that the shadow was actually as a result of a human being standing at his doorway.
- After what seemed like forever, when Jake had since forgotten about the presence of the shadow, the person who had been watching him from the door suddenly spoke up. "Why can't I shake the thought that you had a hand in this?"
