Chapter 59 Confrontation

• ‘That took care of my problem,’ Max thought as he headed towards the living room quietly to find Spike and Boss and see what he could do to disarm them. When he didn’t find them anywhere, he went straight to the front door and opened it to let Sebastian, Jeremy, and the cops through the front door, telling them what happened. “The family is safe in one of the rooms. All we need to do is find—”
• Spike hid behind the floor-to-ceiling curtain, and he had his gun pointed at Sebastian’s head. ‘Don’t move.’ Sebastian raised his arms, ready to fight back. There was no time to be scared. He was unarmed, but it would be easy to take the gun away from Spike. He was figuring out how to make his move when whatever he saw in front of him stopped him in his tracks.
• Boss had a gun to Clara’s head, and his arm locked around her neck. He was dragging her towards the back of the house, and the fire in her eyes was bright. Sebastian knew this meant she wanted to fight back, but with a gun pointed at his head, she stopped and let Boss do what he wanted.
