• Vanessa stood at the same spot for some moments. She said a little prayer to the moon goddess to guard and protect Alexander. She was having a bad feeling about the impending war, especially when Zoey is now on their side. Vanessa once trusted her, but after finding out about her affair with her first mate, Zoey had become a total stranger to her, and she no longer had an iota of trust left within her. Zoey had frustrated her to the extent of speaking ill of her right to her face without feeling remorseful.
• She wondered why Zoey had to do all that because she had always been a good friend to Zoey. She then chose not to bother about that because what matters most now is the safety of Alexander and the entire white phoenix pack.
• She turned around and walked back into the mansion. She had barely walked a few meters into the mansion when she noticed the impacting sound of a high-heeled shoe approaching her from behind as they made a striking sound with the well-tiled floor. Vanessa wondered who the person could be for a while. However, she had no idea, so she chose to turn her head and take a look.
