Chapter 15: Sarah Vs Alexis

"You fooled me!" Sarah spat out each word with all the bitterness overflowing inside her. Her blue eyes were drowning in anger, her chest was heaving up and down rapidly and her jaws were clenched down on her cheeks as she stared at the woman before her. "I trusted you!"
Sarah knew that Alexis wasn't an easy one to provoke to guilt but she at least expected her to offer an apology...even if it wasn't genuine. The funny thing was though, Alexis didn't look the least bit guilty. Her hand was digging into her hips as she leaned her weight on her right foot while the other hand was holding a tray filled with fruits. With an unnerving smile on her lips, she outstretched it to Sarah and rose her brow when Sarah only stared down at it without making any move to take it.
An abrupt snort happened to leave Alexis's mouth a few seconds later. It seemed to Sarah like she was trying to hold it back but failed to do so. "I was the one who trusted you, Sarah." She countered. "How could you have done something like that? How long have you been working with rogues anyway? Was the sex-slave thing just a disguise?" Alexis threw a string of questions at her. Strangely, her voice was shaking with feigned emotions such as disappointment and despair but her face held pure mockery and triumph.
