Chapter 4 Our Debts Are Settled Now

• I plead guilty!
• To everything, including my dad's wrongdoings and my own.
• The Raelynn that Kendrick knew was seductive in bed, yet once dressed, she became a sharp and capable woman who would never admit defeat.
• He had initially thought that the lawsuit would require numerous battles. With her character, she wouldn't stop until she achieved her objective.
• When she said the words "I plead guilty", he was momentarily taken aback. After leaving the court, he remained seated for quite some time before finally standing.
• His thoughts were in a whirlwind.
• "From this moment on, we are done."

• "In the past decade, I have never crossed paths with you ... "

• Before Lewis was admitted to the ICU that day, Kendrick had never seen her shed a tear. Now, her tears kept replaying in his mind.
• Kendrick shook his head, muttering, "We are done!"
• He moved away from the plaintiff's seat, nearly stumbling and losing his balance with a single step.
• We are done! He recalled the firm resolve in her voice when she said those words, as though she had slammed a proposal down at a meeting, declaring, "This project is mine!"

• Raelynn, there was nothing that could stop her.
• Kendrick adjusted his tie, left the courtroom, and from that moment on, Raelynn would no longer be a part of his life.

• Raelynn sat on top of a female inmate, her mouth bleeding as she slapped the female inmate's face with a shoe. "Try to come near me again!"
• "I won't. I promise I won't!"
• "After this, do you still dare to put food you can't eat on my plate?" With that, Raelynn gave two more slaps with her shoe.
• "I won't! I swear I won't!" The female inmate begged repeatedly.
• Raelynn was proficient in Taekwondo, and other than being unable to defeat Kendrick, she was not someone anyone would want to provoke.
• In a place like prison, bullying was inevitable. She had originally planned to ignore it, but these bullies had gone too far!
• She needed to assert her dominance, or else anyone could walk all over her.
• In this world, only Kendrick had the power to make her feel defenseless.
• But she would only let him hurt her this one time!
• Just this one time!
• All the female inmates feared Raelynn, she was as ruthless as a demon.
• When she discovered she was pregnant, she was completely at a loss. She didn't know what to do next.
• When Alberto Glunt visited Raelynn, she felt a glimmer of hope. Looking at him through the thick glass, she begged, "Alberto, please help me."
• To Alberto, she appeared so thin, her lips trembling with frustration. "Why did Kendrick treat you this way? What does he want? He warned me to stay away from you, and I thought he really loved you. I let go because I saw how deeply you loved him, but why couldn't you find happiness?"
• His eyes burned with anger. "Raelynn, are you really this clueless? Did you really waste all your love over the past decade?"
• Raelynn pressed her lips together tightly. "If I hadn't gone through it, how would I have known I was foolish? Everything has a cause and effect. Let's not dwell on the past."
• "Not dwell on it? Why not? He was the one who sent you to prison! Why shouldn't we talk about that?" Alberto asked angrily.
• "I owe him, I have to make it right," Raelynn said, taking a deep breath to stop her tears from falling. "I've repaid my debt now."
• Alberto wanted to speak, but he held back, swallowing his words.
• Raelynn continued, "Please help me find a way, I know you can. I'm pregnant, don't let anyone outside find out. And if they do, help me prove that this child isn't his."
• "It's Kendrick's child?" Alberto asked.
• "Yes."
• "Why not abort it?"
• "I can't," Raelynn replied.
• "Why not?"
• "I won't fall in love again, I won't touch another man for the rest of my life, but this child is mine," Raelynn said, looking into Alberto's eyes. Tears finally spilled down her face, beyond her control.
• Alberto's fist hit the stone table with a loud thud. "Are you really willing to sacrifice everything for just one person?"
• "At least for now, I can't risk loving anyone again."
• Alberto understood that she was deeply wounded, and she needed time to heal. He couldn't push her further.
• "I'll help you," he remarked.
• ...
• On the day Raelynn gave birth, the doctor furrowed his brow as he performed the cesarean section on her, fully anesthetized. "Sigh, economic criminals, most of them are actually quite smart. They've just misdirected their intelligence. If they had applied their minds to the right path, how could they have ended up like this?
• "Such a young age, and now only one kidney remains."
• Only one kidney left.
• Raelynn heard the doctor's words in a daze.
• In court, she declared, "I wish I could give you my life, isn't that enough?"
• Kendrick, how could you be so heartless toward me?
• At least, our debts are settled now.
