Chapter 2 Drop the Lawsuit
- Raelynn had always deeply loved Kendrick. As his most loyal secretary, how could she possibly be involved in revealing confidential company information to outsiders?
- She read the writings on the paper, "The Plaintiff: Kendrick Reece."
- Raelynn collapsed to the floor, feeling numb and chilled. If Kendrick was behind this, she had no hope of escaping this situation.
- ...
- At the CEO's office in the Reece Group.
- Raelynn opened the door and saw the man sitting in the CEO's chair, looking both refined and composed. She slowly approached him, saying, "Would you consider dropping the lawsuit for the sake of our ten years together?"
- It felt humiliating—when had she ever been so humble before him?
- But after what had happened the day before, she realized that all the kindness she had once received was nothing more than a fleeting illusion.
- In his presence, she was nothing.
- Raelynn was still dressed in her secretary uniform: a white shirt, a black blazer, and a form-fitting black pencil skirt.
- She once gazed at him with a playful smile, and he would tease her, calling her a little demon, admiring her wild side.
- But now, her eyes were devoid of any spark.
- "If you had any dignity left, you wouldn't have come here," Kendrick said, reclining in his chair. "Ah, how could I forget? You're Lewis' daughter. You became my lover at 18 for money. How could you have any dignity?"
- Raelynn's body shook violently, as if she felt a familiar presence behind her. She had walked forward with confidence, only to be betrayed by someone she trusted.
- At 18? Did he still recall the night she slept with him on her 18th birthday?
- Lover?
- She had always believed she was his girlfriend, but she never expected to be anything more than a lover.
- Her eyes burned with pain, so intense that she had never cried in front of him. She always wore a smile because he claimed he liked to see her happy. When she smiled, he said she was the most beautiful woman.
- She approached him, leaning against the desk and casually shrugging. "It's been ten years. Even if you had a cat or a dog, you'd develop some kind of affection, wouldn't you?"
- "But Lewis' daughter doesn't mean much."
- Raelynn took a steadying breath before kneeling by his legs, slowly unzipping his pants with her fingers. "Drop the lawsuit, and I'll do whatever you ask."
- Kendrick reached out, grasping her chin firmly. "Do you think other women wouldn't do the same?"
- "How can they be as skilled as I am?" Raelynn raised her eyebrows coquettishly, and her hands began to move dishonestly. "After all, I have been your lover since I was 18, and it has been seven years now. In seven years, I know whether you want me to bend over or lie down with just one look from you, isn't it?"
- She had already lowered her head.
- Kendrick's nerves were tense, and the tense and exciting feeling made him let out a long breath.
- He stretched out his hand to press her head, grabbed her hair with his fingers, and tried to pull her away several times, but he didn't take the next step.
- "Raelynn, you are so cheap! Lewis saw me having sex with you like that yesterday, and you still seduced me?"
- Raelynn felt as though the person above her wasn't speaking, but it was a blade falling upon her.
- His cruelty was undeniable, showing no regard for their decade-long relationship.
- His acting skills were truly remarkable. Over the past ten years, he had never raised his voice at her, yet in the past couple of days, he had unleashed every harsh and vile word he could find.
- He had tolerated her for ten years, all to make her suffer in the end.
- And now, he had succeeded. Her heart was bleeding endlessly, the pain too much for her to bear.
- Raelynn raised her head, amorous eyes flew out, and the tip of her pink tongue licked her lips. "I said, as long as you are willing to drop the lawsuit, you can do whatever you want."
