Chapter 5 Release Day
- After two years and seven months, Raelynn walked out of prison.
- The bright sun outside the tall walls was intense, but she couldn't avoid it. She let its rays burn into her soul.
- She slipped into her old work uniform and entered the Reece Group building.
- The receptionist had changed. "Miss, could you please register?"
- Raelynn gave her a sly smile. "I'm your CEO, Kendrick's lover. He told me I could visit him whenever I like."
- With a playful raise of her eyebrows, she paid no attention to the receptionist's shocked look and confidently strode toward the elevator.
- Many people in Reece Group recognized her, their faces filled with surprise. "Ms. Elway?"
- A professional smile played at the corners of her lips. "You remember me? How unusual. When Kendrick tried to sue me before, I wished you would speak up for me, but no one was willing to help."
- "Huh, weren't you in prison? What are you doing here?"
- "Yeah, this company doesn't hire people who spill company secrets."
- "I'm here to charm your boss into giving me a job again." Raelynn walked out with confidence as the elevator arrived on the right floor.
- Everyone stood frozen, unable to respond.
- A knock came at the CEO's office door. "Come in."
- Raelynn entered and shut the door behind her.
- Her heels clicked softly against the carpet as she walked in, and Kendrick paused, his hand still on the keyboard, looking up at her.
- Though he kept his calm, his hand trembled ever so slightly at the sight of Raelynn.
- It's Raelynn!
- Her makeup was still flawless, but it was clear that her skin had tanned slightly, and she had lost some weight.
- She smiled at him, exuding charm, but the gleam in her eyes was different now as if the years had dulled it.
- "I've been released from prison." Raelynn grinned, slowly walking toward him.
- Kendrick leaned back, narrowing his beautiful eyes as he gazed at her. "Didn't we already clear things up? Why are you back here?"
- Raelynn lifted herself slightly and perched on the desk in front of him, idly playing with her earlobe. "I'm here to ask for money. Would you be willing to give me some? After all, as a former CEO's secretary convicted of leaking trade secrets, no one will hire me. I won't find work anytime soon, so how about you help me out?"
- Kendrick's gaze darkened. Raelynn took his hand, holding it gently in hers. "I won't ask you for it without offering something in return. Just ask around about the going rates for women like me. I won't charge you much."
- She couldn't resist flashing him a flirtatious smile.
- A sharp, piercing sensation stabbed at his chest, and Kendrick winced in pain as he took a breath.
- He pulled his hand away from hers, his voice cold, "Raelynn, get out of here, now!"
- Raelynn laughed loudly, her laugh like the sound of tinkling bells, clear and irresistible, while she waved her hand gracefully through the air, flicking it back and forth.
- "Ken, are you repulsed by my skin not being as smooth as before? I can understand. After all, I've been in prison for over two years. What hasn't happened to me? My hands, they're not just rough on the back. They have calluses on the palms too. A man like you could have any woman. Why would you settle for me?"
- She finished speaking, casting a sly glance at the man seated in the CEO's chair. "Isn't that true?"
- Kendrick's expression darkened with displeasure. He had expected that encountering Raelynn again, with her personality, she might come at him with a knife.
- But she didn't.
- She walked into his office wearing her old work clothes. She was unbuttoning her clothes. She had lost weight, and her breasts were not as full as before.
- The body covered by the clothes was still very white, as before.
- A rush of heat, mixed with intense desire, surged through his body.
- Raelynn lifted her skirt, expertly swung her leg over, and settled onto his lap, just as she had done in the past.
