Chapter 4 I Don't Want to Ever See You Again!

  • "Su Yao," said Abby with some difficulty as she walked up to her, holding a black umbrella. "Mr. Lu said that if you want to explain yourself face-to-faec, then you have to prove your sincerity." When she said that, a pang of reluctancy flashed across her face, as she urged, "You should go back for now. He's really mad right now, so he definitely won't see you."
  • Su Yao was dumbfounded. The ice-cold rain water had soaked through her clothes a long time ago, but the cold was nothing in comparison to the coldness in her heart.
  • Sincerity? How do you show that?
  • Su Yao knew that Lu Licheng was unwilling to see her and that was just an excuse, but she couldn't leave just leave like that. She needed to clearly explain herself face-to-face!
  • She felt her heartache, as she bit down hard on her bottom lip and looked at Abby with teary eyes. "I don't know what's considered sincere. Go back and tell Lu Licheng that I'm willing to kneel here all night, waiting for him to be willing to see me," she said with a hint of bitterness in the corner of her lips.
  • A hint of astonishment flashed across Abby's face. Was she going to actually kneel all night long?
  • "Miss. Su, go home. It's raining so heavily. If you kneel all night, you'll collapse. No matter if you did it or not, the truth will come out one day."
  • Su Yao shook her head. "I can't wait till that day. Abby, Lu Licheng must hate me to death right now... He doesn't have to love me, but he absolutely can't hate me. I'm willing to kneel here and wait in hopes that he'll keep his word."
  • Abby felt bad for her and after she saw the determination in her eyes, she held her tongue.
  • If a few words could change how Su Yao felt, then she wouldn't have liked Lu Licheng unwaveringly for ten years.
  • This was a stubborn and unyielding lady.
  • With a thump, Su Yao slammed her knees onto the wet ground. She held her head up and looked at the mansion in front of her with determination. It was already unclear whether the water on her face was rain or tears, but the stubborn look on her face was extremely clear.
  • She was using her last bit of dignity to beg for a chance to explain herself.
  • Meanwhile, on the second floor of the mansion...
  • Lu Licheng couldn't quite describe the feeling he had inside when he saw the silhouette of Su Yao kneeling. His chest resembled a ball of wet cotton and his melancholy was made people feel stifled.
  • He was meant to feel good, and yet he couldn't feel happy.
  • The woman he loved the most had passed away. How could be happy?
  • "Mr. Lu." Abby appeared at the door. "Miss. Su Yao says that she's willing to kneel outside and wait for you until you agree to see her. She hopes that you can keep your word."
  • "Ha!" A chilling smile brushed over his lips. Lu Licheng looked at the woman, kneeling in the heavy rain, with an ominous gaze.
  • Did a woman who was willing to use foul play to plot to get their best friend's boyfriend, worthy of negotiating terms with him? And worthy of keeping his word?
  • ............
  • Ice-cold rainwater poured down Su Yao's head as she kneeled motionlessly in the heavy rain.
  • The chilly air attacked her from all directions, causing her to shiver from the cold. Her legs had turned numb as if they were anchored to the ground.
  • She didn't move an inch.
  • Su Yao had no other choice but to be this persistent in telling Lu Licheng that she didn't do it.
  • She could accept making her kneel or calling her 'shameless', but she just couldn't accept this slandering.
  • She wasn't going to admit to something that she didn't do.
  • The rain hit Su Yao's body loudly but it couldn't flush out the determination in her heart.
  • Her vision was blurred and she felt a little dizzy. Su Yao figured that it'd be good to die there tonight. That way, she'd be able to explain herself to Zhou Tong face-to-face.
  • If she died, then perhaps Lu Licheng would really believe that she didn't do it.
  • With that incredibly meek thought, Su Yao gritted her teeth persistently.
  • One night passed.
  • After a whole night of heavy rain, it finally subdued a bit as the thin, silver wire-like rain drops drifted in the wind.
  • Su Yao kneeled all night long.
  • Abby walked up to the door with a black umbrella in hand. She looked at the pitiful, pathetic woman in front of her with sympathy.
  • When the ghastly Su Yao saw Abby, her lifeless eyes were immediately filled with hope. "Is he wiling to see me now?"
  • Abby opened her mouth but didn't have the heart to say what she was going to say next. However, how could she dare not relay what Mr. Lu ordered her to day?
  • "Su Yao, Mr. Lu didn't need to keep his promise with people like you. He won't see you and if you sincerely want to explain yourself, then go die. He said, that way, you can personally explain yourself to Zhou Tong."
  • He actually told her to... go die?
  • After persevering for a whole night, Su Yao's body slipped and almost fell limp on the ground.
  • Su Yao tightly shut her dry eyes, which had long dried up from crying all night.
  • She scoffed tragically. Why was her body so strong? She didn't die after withstanding the rain all night long.
  • She raised her deathly pale face and put on a hint of a forced smile. "Abby, I've known him for ten years now, and I know what he's like. He won't go back on his word. Won't you open the door and let me go in and see him?"
  • Her submissive begging and tragic appearance made it didn't for Abby to continue to look at her.
  • "Su Yao, don't be so stubborn. Zhou Tong's passed away. Mr. Lu is very upset. He definitely won't see you right now and he won't listen to you explain yourself. No matter how much you explain, it won't bring Zhou Tong back. Go home. Give Mr. Lu time to calm down. You'll eventually get a chance to explain yourself."
  • "You don't get it Abby. Lu Licheng isn't just going after me alone, but the Su family too. How could I just let Su Corp be ruined by my hands? I must clear this situation up. Open the door, I'm begging you."
  • For just a second there, Abby had a moment of weakness and thought that it might be good to let her in to clear thing up.
  • A second later, the image of Lu Licheng's menacing face made Abby shudder irresistibly. She's seen how Lu Licheng moves. She never wanted to ever get on his bad side.
  • Su Yao looked at Abby like she wasn't going to give up. "I want to see him. If he doesn't come out, then I'll continue to wait here until he does," she said in a hoarse, yet determined voice.
