Chapter 11 Meeting the Devil

  • Su Yao stood at the door and took a deep breath. Then, she pushed the glass door in front of her.
  • In the dimly lit room, there was a man had a scantily dressed woman as he sang on the platform. On the sofa, the were several more men.
  • Su Yao hung her head down low and collected all the empty bottles from the table. An empty beer bottle sold for five, so Su Yao tried her hardest to hold as many beer bottles in her arms.
  • Without noticing it, she blanked out a little.
  • The image of Ye Sichen came to mind. Ye Sichen now knew that she worked there, so that person... should know too, right?
  • Fear crept unknowingly from the bottom of his heart at the thought of that person.
  • No! She couldn't stay there anymore. Tomorrow, she was going to quit and leave that place.
  • *Bang!* A bottle of red wine fell to the ground and shattered to pieces. The red liquid spilled all over the floor.
  • "Sorry, sorry..." apologised Su Yao hurriedly.
  • The person singing looked at Su Yao with frustration because she ruined the mood.
  • "Su Yao, what's wrong? So clumsy! You can't even do something so little?" Loudly complained the hostess of the room. "Wang brought that bottle of red wine especially from Italy. Can you afford to pay him back?"
  • In the corner, a pair of dark, ominous and rather shocked eyes fell on her when they heard the two words, 'Su Yao'.
  • "Sorry, I'm so sorry..."
  • Su Yao bowed and apologised profusely.
  • Yuanyuan waved her hand. "There's no use in apologising. It's not like you can eat with an apology? Just pay us back as soon as possible."
  • She'd only worked for a month, so she hadn't received a single cent yet. She only had over a hundred on her. How was she going to pay?
  • Su Yao has no choice but to now and apologise repeatedly to the man on the platform. "Mr. Wang, I'm terribly sorry. I'll definitely pay you back, but... I don't have money right not. Wait until I get paid enough to pay you back..."
  • On the platform, Wang waved his hand impatiently. "How much can a waitress earn per month? Who knows how long I'd have to wait. How about this? Perform something for us to liven up the mood, and we'll forget this ever happened.
  • Su Yao's heart instantly fell. "Perform... what?" She stammered to ask.
  • Wang smiled. ""Kneel down and say, 'Grandad, I was wrong.'"
  • Su Yao's face instantly turned pale white.
  • "What? Don't want to do it?"
  • Seeing as she didn't budge, Wang put on a long face. "I gave you a chance, so if you still don't know how to appreciate my kindness, then you leave me no choice. That bottle of wine cost eighty thousand, plus shipping it was ninety thousand in total. You either kneel, or pay up right now."
  • Ninety thousand... Su Yao didn't have that, and if she did, she wouldn't pay up.
  • Money was her life and she was in debt.
  • *Pfffft* Su Yao kneeled on the ground with practically no hesitation at all. She slammed into the pool of red liquid with a steely look on her face. "Grandad, I was wrong... Grandad, I was wrong..."
  • She didn't want to kneel, but she had no other option.
  • What's more, hadn't she kneeled enough? In prison, she once kneeled naked all night long in the toilet.
  • As long as she could survive, and as long as they didn't take her money away, what's a little humiliation?
  • In the corner of the room, a man's gaze suddenly intensified. He watched in disbelief as the woman kneeled on the ground.
  • Was that... Su Yao?
  • That unyielding, confident Su Yao?
  • "Okay. Not bad." Wang waved his hand in satisfaction. "Go. Next time, be more careful."
  • Su Yao let out a sigh of relief, then hot up and walked to the door.
  • "Wait!"
  • A suddenly chilling voice erupted.
  • Su Yao's face instantly turned deathly white.
  • The blood in her body seemed to rush to the top of her head, and her mind went blank. Utter horror appeared on her face and her body started to tremble uncontrollably.
  • It'd been four years; over a thousand days and nights. That voice was like a curse to that tormented her every living second.
  • Her feet were glued to the ground and didn't budge for a long time.
  • "You're called Su Yao?" The chilling voice continued with a playful tone.
  • Su Yao's heart felt like it was being clenched by a hand. She couldn't breathe. Her pale white face didn't have a trace of blood.
  • The owner of the voice got impatient. "Didn't you hear me call you?"
  • She wanted to run away. She wanted to run away and never look back!
  • But she knew that nobody could run away from Lu Licheng's hands.
  • Su Yao took a deep breath, then slowly spun around.
  • Her teeth chattered softly and her hands clasped tightly onto her thighs. She forced herself to look up at the nightmarish face.
  • The dim light illuminated Lu Licheng's body, but his chiseled face was hidden in the dark. His entire body released a captivating aura of respect that couldn't be ignored.
  • His leg was crossed over the other, as he looked at her sluggishly with his penetrating gaze.
  • Su Yao glanced at him just once before she quickly hung her head down low.
  • For countless days and nights, that face startled her awake. To Su Yao, that face was biggest nightmare of her life.
  • She never dared to forget it. She suffered the worst torture, and he was the one who gifted them to her every time.
  • She suffered the worst humiliation, and Mr. Lu was the one who ordered it every time.
  • It had been four years now since she climbed out of hell soaked completely in blood. And yet, she met this devil!
