Chapter 10 You've mistaken, I'm Not Su Yao

  • The dorms were not far from Sky City; just ten minutes by foot. Su Yao lived a life where she only went from point A to point B every day.
  • A month went by quickly.
  • In the early evenings, neon lights flashed by. The quiet and lonely day started to get rowdy in Sky City.
  • "Su Yao, five Chivas Regals to the VIP rooms on the eleventh floor!" A loud voice was heard and Su Yao headed for the eleventh floor with five bottles of Chivas Regals in hand like a soulless wooden doll.
  • She walked into the storage room and rubbed her sore knees. She took at seat on the stairs and stared vacantly at the ice-cold wall in front of her.
  • Three years ago, when she found out that she was pregnant, she was both happy and devastated.
  • She was happy that she was pregnant by the man she loved, but saddened that the child would have to face such harsh realities as soon as they're born.
  • At the time, she was full of joy to give birth to this child but who knew? This child didn't like this dirty world one bit.
  • So, as soon as he was born, he shut his eyes forever.
  • Since the moment the baby died, her heart died with him.
  • Su Yao, this was karma.
  • You killed Zhou Tong, so you weren't worthy of having your own child.
  • So the Lord killed your child as soon as he was born and your uterus ruptured during the birth so you would never be worthy of having your own child!
  • Su Yao, that's your karma!
  • A contorted face appeared in front of her like a demon who emerged from hell. Then, she heard a harsh voice that frequently reminded her that she had a debt to repay.
  • Four years had passed. Every time that Su Yao fell silent, that unshakeable image would appear before her eyes.
  • "Su Yao, where the hell have you been? Three bottles of Remy Martins to room number 8 on the twelfth floor!" A sharp voice echoed in the corridor.
  • The hostesses were used to seeing people with power and people, but for someone as lowly as her, respect was naturally out of the question. She had to often go where people needed drinks.
  • Su Yao didn't mind. She pretended that she couldn't hear the cutting words.
  • She grabbed three bottles and left.
  • "Su Yao?" Just as she reached the stairway, she suddenly heard a shocked voice behind her.
  • Su Yao instantly froze.
  • Her breathing started to feel heavy and her hands started to tremble. She stood still on the spot, and didn't budge.
  • She didn't want to see him in a place like this. She didn't want to bump into anyone she knew.
  • "Su Yao, it really is you!" Ye Sichen was pleasantly delighted to see the woman in front of him, but then a wave of shock emerged on his face. "You..."
  • How did you become like this?
  • The rest of the sentence was stuck in his throat. Ye Sichen looked at the obvious scar on her neck with a confused look in his eyes.
  • Su Yao raised her hand and covered the scar on her neck. Then, she walked on flustered and with bottles in her hands.
  • "You've got the wrong person. I'm not Su Yao." Su Yao lifted her leg to leave, but Ye Sichen pulled her arm.
  • "I'm Ye Sichen. Do you not recognise me anymore?"
  • Su Yao looked up. Four years had passed and during that time, there were many scars left on her body, and yet there wasn't a single one on him. He still looked just as handsome, refreshing, and clean as before.
  • Su Yao likes Lu Licheng for ten years, and Ye Sichen liked Su Yao for ten years.
  • Admiration is like a food chain. Every stage downward required you to kill to survive and live by fulfilling your desires.
  • Every person overestimates the height of the pyramid, yet crawls the lowest layer of the Earth.
  • Su Yao looked into Ye Sichen's eyes and teared up for a second. If she hadn't been so stubborn back then and turned to Ye Sichen, then perhaps she would have realised how good he was. Perhaps, she might have even liked him.
  • If the person she fell for was Ye Sichen, then those things wouldn't have happened.
  • But, she had to be stubborn and loved that person without looking back.
  • Four years had passed. She was no longer the same Su Yao as before. Now, she was a filthy maggot in the dirt. How could she allow Ye Sichen be sullied by her filth?
  • "Sir, you've really got the wrong person," Su Yao forcefully pulled her wrist away, then ran upstairs without looking back.
