Chapter 8

• Louisa sat still and watched her as she plodded out the door with her head bowed.
• " How did she manage to cheat time and not age, she looks almost younger than I am" she whispered.
• After few minutes of staring Louisa exited the the coffee shop with a mixed feeling.
• The thought of having to leave Danna for such a long time dreaded her but she also desperately needs cash to pay her bills and also for Danna's surgery.
• "Oh Louisa ,I forgot to ask who her son is, I could at least look him up on Google." She said while hitting her head repeatedly.
• While she headed to the bus station she remembered she had a personal advisor and quickly draw out her mobile. 
• "Hello Louisa!! I've been waiting for you to buzz me, damn I saw that maaad ride! Where did you go, did you go on a date? Did he take you to his home....wait..did you do it?" Chloe rained thousands of questions on her.
• Louisa shook her head and licked her lip, she made a click sound with her tongue and squinted her eyes before she finally replied 
• "Chloe! Relax, you almost screamed my ears down, I didn't go on a date okay? It was some sort of a mini business meeting meeting and it was with a female just that it was a male that picked me"
• " Really? Louisa is he handsome...wait you got a job? Wow ,I'm so glad girl" said Chloe.
• Still on motion ,Louisa as usual kicked tiny pebbles on the road ,she folded a arm across her chest while she held the phone with the other, in no time she switched the phone from her right hand o her left hand this time making a long "tsk" sound.
• "Tsk tsk tsk, Chloe, when will you learn to calm your nerves?, Anyways I can't say I got a job already, well let's say I got a once time job over that will last for a week and few days  with the pay of $5,000 but--"
• Chloe who was at the office at the moment sprang out of her swivel chair.
• "What the f*ck? Five f*cking thousand dollz?" Tell me why you are not at work already" Chloe asked hysterically.
• Louisa rolled her eyes on hearing her overly dramatic friend.
• "I know right..but it requires i live with a full grown man for over a week, I mean that is not the problem, but what about Danna? Ever since I took her in, I have never left her for that long"
• Chloe took few steps away from her desk, she covered her mouth with her hand as she whispered.
• " Who knows the man might be single, last time I checked you were single too, about Danna you try and explain things to her, if that's sorted, she can move in with me till you return.
• Louisa paused her gait and suckled in her lip and finally sighed for long seconds while looking straight ahead.
• " Thanks Chloe, I'd give you a feedback,I love ya" Louisa said .
• Standing at the bus station with her hands flop beside her, she hummed her favourite Rihanna's song "Daimond" as she await the next cab home.
• After a short drive that seemed to too long for Louisa she alighted the cab, lost in thought of how to tell her sister she is about taking up a job that requires her to stay over a week with a man while she is left all alone.
• Danna was a strong spirited girl, despite being disabled, she views life from a positive angle, never let's anyone talk her down, she was very good in hiding her pain and most importantly she was highly protective of her elder sister; she had the complete attribute of their late mum that one would have mistaken her to be older than Louisa.
• Louisa headed straight to the kitchen to make something out of the little things she got from the grocery on her way home and soon was out with dinner, she headed straight to Danna's room ,laid the tray on the on the table before and sat on the chair facing Danna.
• Danna held chin and narrowed her eyes looking straight at Louisa who was stroking her hair repeatedly.
• " Enough Louisa ,spit out already  and stop acting fishy"
• Louisa blinked her eyes simultaneously and her jaw dropped at her overly matured little sister.
• " What do u mean spit it out, I just came to serve your meal and have some fun time with my baby sister" Louisa stuttered.
• Danna waved her as she stared at her sister pathetically.
• " Louisa it's written all over you, you just got back so it's normal to have something to say, but your attitude tells me it's not something good..chill you didn't insult or hit him right?" Danna probed.
• " Of course not! What do you take me for Danna, I am not violent"
• " Well that's a relief ,so go ahead and spit what is wrong, enough of the suspense" Danna said as she wheeled her chair to face her elder sister squarely.
• " The thing is ...you see..I might have  to be away for a week and few day!!" She screamed with her eyes shut.
• Danna reflexly covered both her ears with her hand.
• "Common Louisa you almost made me go deaf! Is that all, it's that what is beating you so hard? I am a grown girl, I'd be fine"Danna said
• " Well...Danna you see, I might have to stay with a man for more than one week, but I'd be fine,I promise, I cross my heart"Louisa said.
• Danna's eyes bulged and she wheeled her chair few inches backwards and intensely glaring at her big sister.
• " Louisa a strange man? You're yet to heal completely from what that specie did to you, what if ... What if... Louisa please be careful" she concluded after a long sigh.
• Louisa moved closer to her and bent down to see her face, she pulled her cheek and patted her hair.
• " I promise I'd be fine little mum, so smile ,you look like a pumpkin with that face,when I  am back we would get your surgery done" Louisa promised
• She leaned to hug her in her will chair and persuaded her to early her meal while she headed out to get her a glass of water.
• "Louisa ! " Danna called from inside the room.
• Louisa halted suddenly and turned around at the sudden call of her sister.
• "So when is it going to be?" She asked trying to hide a tear drop rolling down her eyes.
• " I'm not gonna  sound desperate and call back immediately, we still have a week for ourselves" Louisa responded and plodded out immediately without turning back.

• It was the early hours of hours of Sunday, after Louisa had decided to take the job. She heard the door bells and slowly walked to door thinking critically who it could be that could visit her at such early hour. It was just 5am and it was still dark outside.
• "Could it be Alexis? He said he will return, did he mean it" she thought.
• She took a long sigh and opened the door once screaming 'what do you want'.
• " Easy girl, don't wake your neighbours"
• Louisa still shivering glared at Chloe who was suited up with a thick cardigan and a muffler around her neck. She stood beside a huge leather bag beaming with smile.
• "Chloe what happened, where are you going? What is the bad for?"
• " Thank you for letting me in " Chloe said and let herself in while Louisa shut the door.
• Louisa strocked her hair then folded her arm beneath her breast, she narrowed her eyes probing her friend till she noticed Chloe was struggling to hold back her tears.
• "Chloe what is wrong? " She asked squatting and her hands placed on Chloe's palm.
• " It is you Louisa, I am missing you already that I can't sleep,I thought you'd be gone before day brightens" Chloe blurted.
• Louisa bowed her head and waved it repeatedly.
• " Chloe you are the most dramatic being in the whole world, you got me scared girl, Chloe I'm not traveling out of Texas ,I am still within Texas..what with the bag?"
• Chloe glared at Louisa with a creased face and pouted mouth.
• "Is that the best you can do to console a lady in distress? Anyway the bag is yours, I got my baby a trendy traveling bag" she said with a wink.
• Louisa and Chloe smiled sheepishly as they walked towards the closet to start packing.
• As they packed they talked about several things and ended it on Alexis.
• " When last did you see Alexis Louisa?"
• "What? Alexis? It's been a long while, the last time I saw him was the night he broke my heart" she lied
• " Oh I see"  Chloe replied looking at her from the corner of her eyes.
• Louisa wasn't aware Alexis had reached out to Chloe before meeting him the  day they met, he had thought Chloe was in the best position to influence Louisa , well, he wasn't wrong except that he should have known Chloe would never intercede for a scum bag like him.
• Hours roll upon hours and In no time Declan pulled over. He plunged forward to help Louisa with her bag and bowed briefly in courtesy for Chloe and Danna whose eyes were already getting teary.
• Without turning back,Louisa plunged forward to the car till she was totally out of sight.
