Chapter 341 Anxiety

  • Nolan looked like a dominant leader when he told Jocelyn about the card he gave her. Meanwhile, Jocelyn fixed her gaze on the man’s card, her eyes lighting up with temptation. I need this card so badly! I really need it! Deep down, she knew that she might never make enough money to repay her debt to Nolan, but at the same time, she was certain that he would likely write off her debt due to their relationship. Although it was probably the best and wisest way for Jocelyn to accept Nolan’s kind offer, she was bound by her principles not to take anyone else’s money for free, especially Nolan’s. After all, she never considered Nolan on her side; instead, he was her enemy.
  • Therefore, there was no way Jocelyn would ever accept his money without giving anything back in return. At the thought of that, she didn't eagerly take the card from him. Instead, she took out a notebook and a pen to write something. When she was done writing, she applied some lipstick on her thumb and left a thumbprint on the paper before she tore it off and gave it to Nolan. “Here is an agreement since I’m borrowing the money. Fair enough!”
  • Just as Jocelyn went ahead and took the card, Nolan grabbed the paper and looked at it closer. His eyes were glued to the agreement for a few seconds, and a stunned look flashed across Nolan’s face just before he met Jocelyn’s gaze in surprise. “What does this line mean, Jocelyn? Why do you want me to sue you with this agreement if you fail to pay back your debt?”
