Chapter 10 Disgusting

  • In the middle of the night, Sebastian stood before his wardrobe for a long time before opening the glass door, revealing all his expensive clothes. There was a secret compartment in the wardrobe. After it was opened, a custom-made black shirt made from the finest fabric was shown. However, a black button was missing from the shirt.
  • Now, the button was dangling on the necklace on Jocelyn’s neck. The button had its own unique symbol. It was engraved with a black wing—Fallen Angel Wing.
  • Sebastian would wear this shirt every time he went to the bar to carry out an investigation. Over the years, after he put on some disguise, no one would recognize him or grow suspicious of him—until he came across Jocelyn.
  • He wasn’t sure if she had shown anyone the button before. As a reckless and high-profiled woman, she was like a time bomb to him.
  • After stepping into the bar, Sebastian went to look for Lindsay Reid in the corner. In order not to attract any attention, he would normally hide in the dark.
  • On the other hand, Lindsay was clad in a hat, a mask, and a big coat. He was the leader of a boy band that was rising in popularity, so he was the center of attention wherever he went. However, no one could recognize him after he put on some disguise, which was why Sebastian was willing to partner up with him. Fortunately, over the years, their identities had never been exposed.
  • “Hey, your sister-in-law is being bullied.” Lindsay put down his cup as he watched the show.
  • Sebastian turned around and looked at the center of the bar. Amidst the chaos, he saw Jocelyn all by herself.
  • ...
  • Jocelyn’s curly black hair was soaked in red wine as she was standing in the center of the bar, looking embarrassed.
  • “Why are you so shameless? We’re not like you, who spend most of your time in a bar. We’re here to celebrate Joanne’s birthday. Why are you making a scene here? Previously, you tried to snatch Joanne’s fiancé. Now, you’ve shifted your focus to Lucas. What a b*tch!”
  • “What can you expect from the daughter of a b*tch?”
  • “This glass of wine is just a warning to you. If you dare to bully Joanne again, it’s going to be something else—”
  • Before Molly finished speaking, Jocelyn picked up the birthday cake and slapped it on her face.
  • Flabbergasted, Molly yelled, “Jocelyn! What the heck!” She was wearing the latest Chanel dress that Joanne had gifted to her.
  • Jocelyn straightened up and stared defiantly at them. She wanted to ignore them just now, but she didn’t expect Molly to provoke her first. Joanne had never visited a bar before, so why would she decide to hold her birthday party in this bar? Obviously, she’s trying to show off to me by bringing Lucas here.
  • “Since you’ve provoked me, I won’t let you get away with it.” Jocelyn grabbed Molly’s dress and wiped the crushed cake off her hands. “If you dare humiliate my mom again, I’ll smash the wine bottle right on your face.”
  • Molly wanted to stop her, but she couldn’t bring herself to touch the messy cake, so she could only stomp her feet in exasperation. “Jocelyn, get that disgusting cake off my expensive dress!”
  • Disgusting? “Hey, Joanne, Molly said your birthday cake is disgusting.” Jocelyn then looked at Molly with a smile. “Anyway, why are you fretting over a counterfeit dress? The tassels of the genuine dress are shorter than these.”
  • Shocked, Molly turned to look at Joanne, whose face had turned red as she didn’t expect that Jocelyn would say such a thing in public. However, she couldn’t flare up with so many people around, so she crashed into Lucas’ embrace and started trembling, pretending to be aggrieved.
  • “Jocelyn, how could you slander me?” she cried in a choking voice.
  • “I—”
  • “Enough! Why do you keep doing this?”
  • Before Jocelyn could finish her words, Lucas grabbed her wrist and interrupted her. His grip was so forceful that Jocelyn felt pain in her wrist. Gazing at him, she realized that disdain and fury were written all over his face.
  • “Jocelyn, why do you have to snatch stuff from your sister all the time?”
