Chapter 37
- JESSIE’S POV
- The house settled into a comfortable quiet after Cal left with the twins. It was a different kind of quiet than the tense silences of the past, more like the lull after a shared laugh. I found myself tidying the throw pillows on the couch, a small smile playing on my lips as I remembered the kiss with Cal. A warmth spread through me, a hopeful anticipation for the evening ahead.
- I knew Cal’s grocery runs with Sophie and Cal Junior will be more than grocery shopping, the twins will make him buy a lot of toys and Cal would not be able to refuse. He was so good with them, so effortlessly loving, and it warmed my heart to see them connecting.
