• “Damn it!” Rico cursed, slamming his fist against the steering wheel. The car sped out of the park district, silence broken only by the steady hum of the engine. His hands gripped the wheel so tightly his knuckles turned white.
• “Why do you look like you’ve just seen a ghost?” Viona finally broke the silence, reclining lazily in her seat. Her smile carried a mocking edge. “And really, you don’t have to get so worked up. It’s pointless.”
• Rico let out a sharp snort. “Didn’t you notice? Ivy saw us. Not just Ivy—Josh too. Do you have any idea how dangerous that was?”
