Chapter 40
- As soon as Ivy stepped out of the gallery, Josh was already waiting out front, leaning casually against the hood of his car. The late afternoon sun lit his hair with a warm sheen, making the ocean-blue of his eyes even more captivating. The way he watched her walk toward him was almost unsettling—like they’d been apart for far too long.
- Does he look at other women like that, too? she wondered, a flicker of annoyance rising in her chest. But then again, what were they, really, besides business partners with a small personal arrangement? - Their worlds were nothing alike—sky and earth, completely different, impossible to compare. And Ivy knew that if she stared up at a sky as beautiful as Josh’s for too long, she might just break her own heart.
