Chapter 22
- "Can't I just do it by myself?" Ivy asked, her tone weary. It wasn’t the first time she’d asked—but that didn’t seem to matter.
- “We’re sorry, Miss Kim,” said one of the team Josh had obviously hired—people brought in specifically to help Ivy get ready for the banquet. He gave her an apologetic smile. “Please, allow us to do our job.”
- Ivy sat in front of the oversized mirror in her room, which had now been transformed into a makeshift dress suite. Professionals had come one by one—hairstylists, a makeup artist, a fashion advisor, even a stylist with an entire rolling rack of designer gowns. Each of them moved with practiced ease, carrying luxury cases that looked like they were prepping for a royal bride instead of someone attending a company banquet.
