Chapter 13 The Kissing On The Other Side Sets The Heart Ablaze

  • Five years ago, Tang Jing would still feel nervous when she was alone with Bo Cheng and be careful with her thoughts and actions. However, fast forward to today, five years had passed and time had changed everything. Some things remained the same, but the people changed, and she felt nothing apart from the numbness in her heart.
  • As the elevator ascended, Bo Cheng stared at Tang Jing’s side profile. The man had a handsome face as exquisite as a painting, and Tang Jing noticed his scorching stare as he locked his eyes onto her.
  • If it was five years ago, he wouldn’t have had such an expression; he would want Tang Jing to be as far away from him as possible, or better yet, disappear from his sight for the rest of his life.
  • Nevertheless, his searing-hot stare directed at her right now was like that of a wolf pack’s alpha male zeroing in on its prey, and it made Tang Jing feel like she had nowhere else to escape.
  • The elevator doors opened with a ding, and Tang Jing took the lead and walked out of the elevator. Bo Cheng observed her slender back from behind and remained silent for a very long time before catching up with her. When they arrived at the entrance of the V2 private room, Tang Jing finally came to a stop.
  • Bo Cheng smiled at her. “Why aren’t you going in?”
  • Tang Jing clenched her teeth and reached out to push open the private room’s door.
  • The moment Tang Jing entered, she vaguely heard someone nearby let out a whistle, and a whiff of alcohol and smoke wafted toward her. She was upset, but she didn’t express it and frowned faintly instead.
  • After that, she heard someone from the couch yell, “This is one pretty chick! Who brought her here?”
  • Bo Cheng laughed from behind her before answering, “Why, Fu Xuan, do you want her?”
  • Tang Jing looked up to see Jiang Xie and the others nestled against the couch. A group of hostesses packed the seats around them, and each of them wore miniskirts with their shoulders exposed. It was a sparkling scene.
  • Standing there, Tang Jing looked especially out of place.
  • Fu Xuan poured a glass of wine for Tang Jing and spoke in her direction. “Cheng, you brought her here? Hello, Miss. Care for a drink?”
  • “Hey, Fu Xuan, do you have a death wish?”
  • Jiang Xie reminded Fu Xuan from behind, but he already had too much to drink and didn’t seem to hear him. Fu Xuan put his arm around Tang Jing before taking a seat, smiling at Bo Cheng with his narrowed eyes. “Cheng, you truly know me inside out! How did you know she’s my type?”
  • Bo Cheng’s stare was dull, but he didn’t say anything, whereas Fu Xuan continued drinking and even tried to feed Tang Jing a piece of watermelon. Tang Jing wore a deep scowl for quite some time before opening her mouth and accepting the fruit, and the rest of the crowd went wild.
  • “Haha! Fu Xuan is so shameless! He actually went ahead and fed her!”
  • “Didn’t she eat it anyway?! Fu Xuan, you’ll be getting some action tonight!”
  • Fu Xuan hugged Tang Jing while laughing, and he rested his head on her shoulder before asking, “Miss, do you want to play a game?”
  • Bo Cheng observed from the side as his fingers that were gripping the wine glass tightened unconsciously. Jiang Xie whispered to him from the side, “Cheng, shall I talk to Fu Xuan for a bit…”
  • “There's no need.”
  • Bo Cheng’s voice was icy cold and emotionless.
  • It’s just a woman. Why… Why should I care so much?
  • Tang Jing smiled at Fu Xuan. “Are you the person who Bo Cheng’s supposed to talk business with?”
  • “Hey, Miss, let’s not talk shop when we’re having fun.”
  • Fu Xuan’s good-looking face soured, and he turned toward Bo Cheng. “Cheng, what did you tell her? The first thing she mentioned is business, and that’s so disappointing.”
  • This is definitely the client Bo Cheng told me about.
  • Since Bo Cheng brought her along to keep his client company, she was only obligated to accompany Fu Xuan. Tang Jing picked up her wine glass and smiled at the rest of the crowd. “I was late, so I’ll punish myself by downing this glass of wine, but please don’t target me later when we start playing games.”
  • Xu Fuan broke into a smile and held her, sitting her down. “Why are you so cute?”
  • Tang Jing nuzzled against his embrace and smiled at him, her lips tinted bright red by the wine. “Am I? I think you're very cute, too.”
  • The name, Fu Xuan, wasn’t foreign to her. Before she went to prison five years ago, Tang Jing was a renowned Young Miss of a wealthy family with a high social standing. She was familiar with several names of the famous Young Masters within a few social circles, and Fu Xuan was one of them.
  • Rumors had it that he was from the neighboring city, but his family had huge amounts of assets, which was why plenty of people from this city wanted to befriend him.
  • Bo Cheng was suddenly enraged the moment he saw Tang Jing smiling so ravishingly at someone else.
  • The reason he called her over to keep his client company was to humiliate her, but he never expected himself to be pissed off first.
  • Jiang Xie saw him and asked attentively, “Cheng… are you alright?”
  • Even if it was an ex-wife, no one would allow their ex-wife to go drinking with another man because that would destroy the last bit of sentiment they had.
  • However, Bo Cheng clenched his teeth hard and shot daggers at Tang Jing while replying to Jiang Xie, “It doesn’t matter. Let her be.”
  • That’s right. As long as she can get Fu Xuan sorted for me, so what if she has to have a drink with him? Even if she has to sleep with Fu Xuan…
  • Just as his thoughts were jumbled together, he heard the crowd cheer and lifted his head with a snap. Just then, he saw Fu Xuan and Tang Jing’s lips pulling apart, and the next second, Bo Cheng was foaming at the mouth!
  • Everyone started clapping. “Miss, you kept your promise! You deserve my admiration, so I’ll pay for your tab today!”
  • “You’re bold and never afraid to admit defeat! I like it!”
  • “Shall we go for another round?”
  • Jiang Xie turned to glance at Bo Cheng. He was emitting a murderous air as though he was ready to bite someone’s head off, so Jiang Xie yelled at the crowd hastily, “What are you guys playing?”
  • “Truth or dare. If you can’t answer the truth or you can’t perform the dare, you’ll have to kiss someone we choose.” A smiley voice rang. “Do you want to join us?”
  • Kiss someone?
  • Bo Cheng turned to Tang Jing abruptly and saw her slightly parted, bright red lips, looking luscious. She had an arm hooked around Fu Xuan’s neck while leaning against him like a vixen, and the men in the room stole glances at her intermittently.
  • Just like that, a blaze of anger started roaring in his heart uncontrollably. Bo Cheng didn’t even have time to figure out why he was reacting that way. The only thing he knew was that he had a series of insane thoughts flashing through his mind—to bring Tang Jing back home, lock her up, and never let any other men touch her for the rest of her life.
  • She belongs to me, so anyone who touches her will die!
  • When he was staring at Tang Jing in fury, she turned to him with an earth-shattering smile—
  • Tang Jing had an incomparably gorgeous face, and he knew that five years ago, but he felt nothing but disgust toward her at the time, so he didn’t even spare a moment of thought for her. All he thought about was that he married this seductive woman to be a decorative vase kept at home. Tang Jing was so contentious, and she had nothing on An Qing.
  • That’s right… She had nothing on An Qing, this sort of woman… But why does she, why...
  • Bo Cheng realized that he could no longer control his overflowing anger. The moment he saw her kissing Fu Xuan, he had the sudden urge to squeeze Tang Jing’s throat—this wretched woman, how dare she allow another man to kiss her?!
  • Fu Xuan, however, didn’t seem to notice Bo Cheng’s expression. He continued hugging Tang Jing, whereas Tang Jing lifted her chin up slightly, exposing her slender, elegant neckline, and accompanying it was the clavicle chain against her collarbone. It was a tantalizing scene, but one couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
  • She is so thin; she must feel so light that one could easily lift her up.
  • And Fu Xuan did exactly that. He pulled Tang Jing up onto his thighs, and she let out a squeal of surprise, suppressing the feeling of shame bubbling within her while her face blushed a deep crimson.
  • Fu Xuan hooked his arms around her waist before asking her softly, “Do you want to go home with me tonight?”
  • Tang Jing forced herself to stay calm, tugged her hair behind her ear, and replied to Fu Xuan innocently, “Young Master Fu, are you fooling around with me?”
  • Fu Xuan buried his face against her hair and inhaled sharply. “How would I have the heart to do that? Why don’t you tell me your name?”
  • My name…?
  • Tang Jing’s body stiffened, and she was suddenly stunned, not knowing how to respond.
  • “What is it?”
  • Fu Xuan saw her face turn pale and joked, “You can’t be someone scary, right? Miss, don’t scare me.”
  • Tang Jing stopped smiling and stood up wobbly before uttering, “I’m a little dizzy. Let me use the washroom for a bit, and I’ll tell you when I’m back.”
  • Fu Xuan whistled and asked, “Do you want me to accompany you?”
  • “It's just for a short while.”
  • Tang Jing smiled flatteringly. “Young Master Fu, you just have to wait for me here.”
  • “Whoa! My, my!”
  • “The most difficult thing is to fend off a beauty’s grace! Young Master Fu is going to enjoy himself tonight!”
  • “She’s no doubt a beauty; even her words are charming!”
  • Tang Jing walked into the washroom and steadied herself at the basin counter. She reached out to hold her face and took a deep breath.
  • She was drinking too fast, which was why she was feeling lightheaded now. With her cheeks flushed from the alcohol, she continued taking deep breaths while bracing herself against the counter.
  • Fu Xuen asked for my name… How should I answer him?
  • I am Tang Jing.
  • There was only one Tang Jing in A City, and that was the Young Miss of the Tang family from five years ago.
  • How am I going to face all those people in the private room? What kind of glances will they throw at me?
  • After five years, the Young Miss Tang fell from grace and was reduced to becoming a hostess, drinking with men and entertaining them. How pathetic! The distant and strong facade I have put forth all along will become a laughingstock.
  • Tang Jing stood there as countless thoughts flashed across her mind. She even thought of leaving them all behind and escaping, but once she thought of Tang Ze, she held herself back.
  • Tang Jing barely had time to respond when Bo Cheng approached her and pulled her into the last cubicle at the far corner of the female washroom. The door shut loudly behind them, and she fell into Bo Cheng’s embrace.
  • When she looked up, the man gave her his signature sneer and continued staring at her. “You have the guts to seduce him, but you don’t have it in you to tell him who you are?”
  • Tang Jing’s face turned as white as a sheet. “Young Master Bo, this is the ladies' room.”
  • Bo Cheng stood still, as if unperturbed by what she said. He locked the cubicle door and forced Tang Jing into the corner. He reached out and wiped her brilliantly red lips forcibly.
  • The lipstick smeared under his fingers as Bo Cheng asked her coldly, “You kissed Fu Xuan?”
  • Tang Jing lowered her head. “It’s the game rules, so I have to obey them.”
  • “It’s just a game, but you just can’t wait to get intimate with him?”
  • Bo Cheng didn’t allow her to lower her face and lifted her chin up aggressively instead. “Tang Jing, it’s just been five years, but you’ve gotten worse!”
  • Tang Jing laughed, cackling so hard at the absurdity of it all that she burst into tears. “What right do you have to criticize me? Bo Cheng, aren’t you the one who brought me here?! You wanted me to drink with those men, and look at me; that’s what I’m doing now!”
  • Bo Cheng reached out and wrapped his fingers around her neck. “What if I ask you to sleep with him?”
  • “Then I’ll do it! Aren’t I just a toy to you, anyway?” Tang Jing smiled at him, her eyes red. “You don’t even care, so why should I?”
