Chapter 8 Bo Group Is No Longer the Same

  • When Tang Jing woke up the next day, she tidied herself up to go to Bo Cheng’s company. She put on some light makeup, wore a thin trench coat, and left the house in a pair of kitten heels.
  • When she was heading out, Tang Yi called. “Is Ze really in his hands? Jing, are you alright to go by yourself?”
  • A breeze blew by, and Tang Jing’s hair danced in the wind while she took a deep breath and replied, “I’m fine, Yi. Don’t worry. Go on your business trip, and I’ll call you if there’s anything.”
  • Still, Tang Yi continued to babble about a few more things before hanging up. After a while, Tang Jing looked up at the road, and a trace of determination flashed across her eyes. Afterward, she went up in her heels to stop a cab and head to Bo Group.
  • Upon arrival, Tang Jing got out of the cab after paying the driver. As it happened to be the morning rush hour for the white-collar workers, many people were seen coming in and out of the company’s entrance. As if on cue, all of them looked at Tang Jing when she got out of the cab.
  • She was tall and slender. Wearing a light trench coat that fluttered in the morning breeze as she moved, her graceful figure was gilded under the sunlight.
  • The woman walking through the entrance had a beautiful face, especially her eyes, which were as ruthless and cold as hardened steel. With a tensed but frigid expression on her fair face, Tang Jing pressed her thin lips together tightly and strode to the front desk.
  • The lady at the front desk was shocked by her air and presence, and she froze for a long time before asking, “May... May I know who you’re looking for?”
  • “Bo Cheng.”
  • She just addressed Young Master Bo by his full name.
  • The receptionist was stunned. “But Miss… to see Chairman Bo, you need to make an appointment…”
  • Hearing this conversation, someone whispered behind her.
  • “She actually came here for Young Master Bo!”
  • “Shh, keep it down. Look at her imposing strides; she must be someone with a strong background!”
  • “Exactly! She could be Young Master Bo’s secret lover.”
  • “Young Master Bo’s secret lover? Isn’t Miss An the one he loves the most?”
  • Upon hearing the mention of Miss An, Tang Jing felt as if her heart was cut by a sharp knife, and her face turned paler, but her smile turned ghastlier as she ordered, “Say my name, and Bo Cheng will arrange to meet me right away.”
  • When the receptionist was about to ask the identity of this over-confident lady, a voice rang from behind.
  • “Hey, why are you here?”
  • Tang Jing turned and saw Jiang Xie, who greeted her in his Maserati the other day. He was walking inside with a grin while squinting his charming, gleaming eyes. Seeing Tang Jing at the front desk, he walked up and greeted, “Hey, you’re here for Cheng, right?”
  • The receptionist saw that even Young Master Jiang, who was from the neighboring town, knew the lady before her, so she quickly allowed her to go upstairs, leaving everyone shocked. Who exactly was this person, that even Young Master Jiang knew her?
  • In fact—Tang Jing thanked Jiang Xie when they got into the elevator. “Thank you.”
  • “You don’t have to thank me.” Jiang Xie waved his hand with a smile. “I came here to discuss something with him, but you should go first. After all, the Tang family owns some shares in this company too, so it’s not a big deal for you to enter your own company.”
  • “You did your homework and investigated my past so thoroughly.”
  • There was a hint of sarcasm in Tang Jing’s voice, but it wasn’t clear whether it was meant to ridicule Jiang Xie or herself. “Unfortunately, it isn’t mine in the end.”
  • Jiang Xie glanced at Tang Jing and asked, “Did Bo Cheng really… send you to jail five years ago?”
  • Tang Jing said nothing and just smiled faintly.
  • Yet, the smile was too painful, like the grin of someone who fell into the abyss, hopeless.
  • Jiang Xie stopped pestering her. The elevator doors automatically opened when it reached the 20th floor, and the two walked out of the elevator together, attracting the eyes of the people in the hallway.
  • Bo Cheng happened to be sitting in his office, waiting for Jiang Xie. When he saw him pushing the door to come inside with someone trailing behind, he joked—
  • “F*ck. You even brought a woman to a business meeting?”
  • However, when he saw the person behind Jiang Xie, his expression fell immediately. “Why are you here?”
  • “The Tang’s invested their hard-earned money in Bo Group, too, so why can’t I be here?”
  • Tang Jing’s shoulders were trembling, but she held it back forcefully and looked at Bo Cheng with her slightly reddish eyes.
  • The man sitting in the middle of the office had a devilishly beautiful face with deep, profound features. His appearance was almost unparalleled even in the entertainment circle, not to mention how eye-catching he was among the average Joes.
  • Countless women in this city wanted to sleep with him, and Tang Jing once thought she was the lucky one for becoming his wife—she later learned that it was actually her most woeful period. Now I know how much it hurts to hold out for a man who was never yours and would never be.
  • Sensing the strange atmosphere between them, Jiang Xie took the initiative to leave as he laughed drily and stammered, “Hehe… if both of you have some unfinished business… then I’ll excuse myself now…”
  • Before finishing his sentence, Jiang Xie exited the office with one swift move and made eyes at the secretary waiting outside. “Popsy, do you want to grab breakfast with me? Young Master Bo won’t be needing you for a little while.”
  • The secretary headed out happily with his arms around her, with no thought for what would happen in the Chairman’s office.
  • Meanwhile, in the office, the solid wood door isolated everything from the outside, and the atmosphere in the elegantly decorated room was instantly chilled to a freezing point.
  • Tang Jing stood there for a long time before looking up at Bo Cheng. “Are you surprised that I came?”
  • Squinting, Bo Cheng raised his eyebrows. “I thought you wouldn’t come.”
  • “Yeah, I thought so, too.”
  • Tang Jing smiled, and her smile was breathtaking. “I’ve been running away from you my whole life, wishing to never see you again, yet now I’ve come to you myself. Bo Cheng, I’m really not as cruel as you are.”
  • Listening to those remarks, Bo Cheng suddenly got angry and mocked, “That only shows that you, Tang Jing, brought it on yourself.”
  • You, Tang Jing, brought it on yourself.
  • Tang Jing said nothing, having mixed feelings deep down.
  • Yeah, I brought this on myself, didn’t I?
  • She gritted her teeth and announced to Bo Cheng, “I’m here to get my son back.”
  • “He’s also my son.”
  • “No, he’s my son. Mine alone!”
  • All of a sudden, Tang Jing raised her voice. “I’ve raised him for five years, since I was in jail until now!”
  • For five year, five whole years, she would have died in prison if she had not constantly reminded herself of her lovely son during those dark, nightmarish days.
  • Tang Ze was her life, the most important thing in her life!
  • She would not give in, even if Bo Cheng wanted to snatch him away from her!
  • Seeing Tang Jing’s state, Bo Cheng’s grin widened with glee. “But you can’t change the fact, which is that my blood flows in Tang Ze’s veins!”
  • “Really?” Tang Jing smiled with teary eyes. “You actually want to acknowledge him as your son? Young Master Bo, is there something wrong with you? Didn’t you hate me so much back then? Didn’t you only want An Qing to bear your children? But now, you even want to take away the son of a murderer?”
  • The son of a murderer!
