Chapter 10 She’s Been To Prison, And She is His Ex-wife

  • Jiang Xie insisted on having a chat with Tang Jing, so she had no choice but to agree. He brought her to a restaurant and when they entered, there was already a man sitting there, smiling. “Damn. You left with someone, but you returned with another. Jiang Xie, aren’t you afraid that you might die of kidney failure?”
  • “Fu, if your eyesight is failing, I’ll bring you to an ophthalmologist.”
  • Jiang Xie rolled his eyes in disdain. “Do you know who this is?”
  • The man called Fu squinted at Tang Jing and gave her a once-over before dragging out an answer. “She does look somewhat familiar…”
  • Jiang Xie hauled Tang Jing over and took a seat at the table. “She is Cheng’s ex-wife,” he explained directly.
  • “Damn.”
  • Fu Wenzhong almost spewed out his coffee, but he held back with much difficulty before swallowing it. He glanced at Tang Jing again. “Miss Tang?”
  • “That’s me.”
  • Tang Jing acknowledged with a cold and flat voice, but it sounded imposing nonetheless.
  • “Are you… alright?”
  • Five years ago, the group of close friends actually did not expect such a sudden change of events. Bo Cheng sent Tang Jing to prison for murder just like that… She did not even have the chance to redeem herself.
  • However, looking at Tang Jing sitting in front of him five years later, Fu Wenzhong narrowed his eyes.
  • He had a feeling that Tang Jing had changed, but also didn’t.
  • What didn’t change was her air of elegance and coldness. Even after five years of prison, she was still the Young Miss of the Tang family, who was breathtakingly beautiful. Her eyes, however, were different.
  • They looked as though they belonged to a decaying, old person who was lifeless and desolate, as though she bore no hope for this world…
  • Fu Wenzhong pondered for a while and understood where she was coming from. How would she still love this world after being hurt so badly?
  • He remained silent for a while before starting the conversation. “So… Xie, you brought her here… for what, exactly?”
  • Jiang Xie glanced at Tang Jing before answering gingerly, “I… did some investigation on you. Well, is Dawn your stage name, Tang Jing?”
  • “Dawn?!”
  • Fu Wenzhong yelled aloud. “That absurd designer, Dawn…? Tang Jing, is that you?”
  • Tang Jing looked at them guardedly and frowned lightly. “I’m sorry, but no.”
  • “I…” Jiang Xie looked at her with his eyes wide in disbelief. “How could it be…? My investigation pointed toward you…”
  • “Your investigation must be wrong.” Tang Jing bent her neck, exposing her delicate, fair skin. “I’m not Dawn, but are you looking for her?”
  • Fu Wenzhong pursed his lips and paused for a long time before replying, “Our company has a project we’d like her to design…”
  • Tang Jing uttered lightly, “If that’s the case, I can give you her contact details.”
  • “For real?” Jiang Xie couldn’t quite believe her, but since Tang Jing said that she could provide them with the contact details, it meant that she was definitely not Dawn.
  • Was the information wrong?
  • Fu Wenzhong continued, “Thank you for your help then. If anything comes up, you can call the number on the card.”
  • With that, he handed Tang Jing his business card, and she accepted it gracefully before standing up. “Is there anything else?”
  • “No. Shall I send you back?”
  • “There’s no need.”
  • Tang Jing lowered her eyes, slipped her hands into the pockets of her trench coat, and strode out of the restaurant with her long, slender legs.
  • “Damn…” Jiang Xie stared at her back while mumbling. “So cold and distant. She is still so arrogant, even after having spent time in prison.”
  • Fu Wenzhong narrowed his eyes and sipped his cup of coffee while commenting meaningfully, “An Qing is nowhere near her level.”
