Chapter 18 A Grand Night

• The house was grand, magnificent,a place that could easily pass for a palace. I opened my mouth, unable to hide my admiration as I took in the sight before me. The mansion was even bigger than the home I had grown up in, back when my father was still alive.
• “Come in,” his deep voice jolted me from my thoughts. I linked my arm with Angel’s, and together we trailed behind him, keeping close. A guard stepped forward, collected the bag from his hand, and disappeared without a word.
