Chapter 45 Don’t Be Afraid, I’ll Protect You

• Upon hearing that Patrick was taking her to see a doctor, Lara immediately gave a start. She jumped out of his arms and steadied herself, saying, “Uh, y-you don’t have to. I’m fine.”
• “Hold on a second, Lara!” Patrick stepped in front of her with a gentle smile on his face. “Where are you going? I’ll give you a lift,” he said. Then, without waiting for her reply, he dragged her into the elevator right away.
• This guy’s really rude, Lara thought to herself. “Let go of me! I don’t need you to give me a lift,” she replied while shaking off the large hand on her arm with deep furrows in her brow.
