Chapter 10 Lara, You B*tch

  • Lara felt her cheeks burning as Damian breathed onto her face. She went red in the face, not knowing what to say. A pair of cold, thin lips descended on hers, tasting the corners of her mouth before quickly keeping after her lips. Her body tensed up as she felt the large hand behind her fold her into his arms.
  • Clatter! Just then, a loud clatter of porcelain dishes sounded over their heads.
  • The figures in the living room froze for a moment. Then, Lara hastily pushed Damian away, sat up, and straightened her clothes in a fluster as paleness showed through her flushed cheeks. Damian, on the other hand, was still neatly dressed, save for the slight wrinkle on his shirt.
  • Lara frowned subconsciously, for the look in Colette’s eyes made her feel deeply uncomfortable.
  • “It’s time for dinner,” Colette said coldly. The dish in her hand was plonked down on the dining table, resulting in the clatter just now.
  • Lara felt that if Damian hadn’t been present just now, Colette would have thrown the dish upside down on her head. She tugged at her clothes before feeling a warm touch on the back of her hand. Damian had stood up and grabbed her hand, taking her to the dining room.
  • As they walked past Colette, Lara felt as though she could still sense Colette’s glare; she looked at her like she was going to eat her alive. Nevertheless, she took her seat next to Damian without saying a word, listening as Colette eagerly and attentively picked food for Damian while treating her as nonexistent over the course of the dinner.
  • The next afternoon, Lara went to the court, accompanied by Sean. It was true that Sean’s presence enabled her to win the case smoothly. However, she was stunned after she and Sean checked on her and Eric’s joint property.
  • Eric had no property listed under his name—not even his real estate and the shares he owned in the company. Not only that, but Eric had even run up a huge amount of debt in the name of the company. In other words, not only would Lara get nothing after her divorce, but she might also end up being up to her ears in debt.
  • Sean immediately applied for an adjournment of the divorce proceedings to search for evidence.
  • Anger welled up inside Lara when she came out of the court and saw how smug Eric looked. She went up and gave him a loud slap, but even that didn’t seem sufficient for her to blow off steam. Before Eric realized what had happened, she delivered a swift and brutal kick to his stomach right away, causing him to howl in pain at once.
  • “Lara, you b*tch!” Eric put his hand to his stomach while bending down in agony.
  • Frightened, Sandy hurriedly supported Eric while yelling angrily at Lara, “How dare you act so aggressive in front of the court? Just you wait! We will sue you!”
  • Despite Sean’s dissuasion, Lara went up right away and slapped Sandy’s pretty face; the slap was much louder than the one she had just given Eric. “Yeah, I hit you two, so what? Sue me then!”
  • “You…” Sandy uttered indignantly while pointing her slender finger at Lara. Her eyes reddened in anger as she didn’t expect Lara to be so cocky.
  • Just then, Sean stepped in front of Lara with a gentle smile. He turned the penetrating gaze behind his glasses to Eric, saying, “Mr. Collins, we’ll reserve the right to pursue legal action against you. In case you didn’t know, not everyone can transfer their assets successfully.”
  • Upon hearing this, Eric was stunned, and fear crept into him.
  • Sean then dragged Lara away to the side of the road, where a black Land Rover was parked. Then, the car’s side window rolled down a little, revealing Damian’s deep, black eyes. “Get in the car.” Looking sullen, he threw a glance at the couple nearby who were looking at them.
  • Lara, however, stood at the door, unmoving.
  • “I’ll be leaving first,” Sean said. With that, he turned around and walked to his car right away.
  • “Just stand here as long as you like if you want to let your ex-husband know about our affair.”
  • Angered by Damian’s wry and yet truthful remark, Lara pulled the car door open and got inside.
