- The Beanet estate looked the same as it always had. Its big gates and perfect gardens were designed to show power, wealth, and control. But to Leo, it felt like a tomb a cold place built on pain and cruelty.
- Leo walked up the marble steps slowly, Fred right beside him. He held a folder full of proof tightly under his arm. Every step was calm and sure. He had promised himself he wouldn’t come here as the angry boy his stepfather once looked down on. Now, he was a man and a serious threat his stepfather couldn’t ignore.
- The butler opened the heavy door, his face stiff and formal. “Mr. Wellington,” he said carefully, as if the name didn’t belong here. “Mr. Beanet is waiting for you.”
