• The city's sun, typically a fierce presence even in the early morning, felt almost gentle as it filtered through Zara’s bedroom curtains. She woke with a surprising lightness in her chest, a faint echo of the conversation with Leo still resonating. His words about her ‘spark,’ about reclaiming her happiness not as a consequence of revenge but as what she should do for herself had settled deep within her.
• "I’ll get some stuff delivered to your doorstep tomorrow," Leo had said last night, his voice warm with promise.
