  • The walls of her bedroom felt different now not because they had changed, but because she had. Zara traced her fingertips across the pale cream wallpaper, the familiar ridges that used to comfort her. They didn’t anymore. They felt foreign, like she was standing in a place she was supposed to know but couldn’t quite belong to.
