Chapter 81 Friends At Last

  • GENESIS
  • Sleep was far from me, no matter how hard I tried. I kept rolling from one side of the bed to the other, forcing myself to close my eyes. But no matter how tightly I shut my eyes, sleep never came. So, I gave up and just decided to read a book. I still had some that I had not finished, and since I was completely jobless at that point, I picked a book. Flipping to the page I stopped at during my last read, I continued. The mansion was very quiet, just like it always was at night, and for some reason, my thoughts went back to the terrible nights I had. Flashes of a man with a knife walking into my room popped into my mind, and I quickly shut the book. I stared at the door and got up from where I had been sitting. Turning towards it, I made sure the door was locked, then I went back to the bed. I picked up the book again and continued from where I had stopped.
  • The words seemed smaller and the sentences suddenly did not make sense to me. I had to read one paragraph twice because I simply did not understand it anymore. It was all Jordan’s fault. I shut the book and groaned loudly before lying down on my back. I was still so angry at him and myself. If he was back, I would no longer feel so unsafe or angry, and I would not think of him the way I was. But because he decided to show me that he was nothing but a pretentious bastard, my mind could not rest. But it was still so painful, it hurt a lot because I had hoped for too much. I started flying before I even learned how to walk, and this was what I got. I crashed hard against a wall, and it was more hurtful.
