Chapter 122 On The Way To The Ball

  • For a while, I felt better and I truly believed Aiden’s words. So instead of wallowing in pain and grief over nothing, I had breakfast and decided to go with the flow and have a little faith in the man I married. I took a shower and immediately after that, I was surrounded by people. While one took care of my nails, the others took care of my hair. It took a while and it made me think back to my wedding day. I smiled at myself, remembering the memories, and realized that I had no regrets at all. After everything, I believed that I was right where I was supposed to be. When they were done, others came in and did my makeup, which was even more exhausting. Aiden and Alden were in the room, watching everything like the supervisors they were. I felt sorry for them. The owners of A&A were babysitting me and probably doing the jobs meant for lower staff because my husband was domineering, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t feel good about it. Alden left at one point, but Aiden remained behind and watched me intently. He took his assignment really seriously.
  • When the makeup was done, it was already late and it was time to get dressed. Just in time, Alden returned and brought in the evening dresses. I gaped at the gowns and for a moment, I thought that I was going to a movie premiere or the Met Gala. But that thought was pushed away and I was forced to put on the dress in front of them. They were the designers, after all, and it must have been done many times, but I was no model so it still felt awkward to do that in front of them. I didn’t take off my towel completely until I was sure the important parts of my body were covered before I slid it off. One of the twins came along and helped me with the zipper, and by the time I was done, I felt like a princess ready for her prince. I wore my jewelry, my shoes, and gaped at the transformed look I had. My makeup was light and nude, and it truly represented me with my blue eyes almost glowing, making the red dress eye-catching.
  • When I was done, the twins were beaming at themselves and they left immediately after. I remained in my room and suddenly remembered the feeling I had on my wedding day. Just as I was waiting, I had waited nervously back then. I was happy for a moment, excited, and I could only imagine the night, but I suddenly felt strange. Would Jordan really come? Before I could delve deep into that thought, the twins came back into the room, all dressed up for the same occasion. With perfectly matching glasses and similar tuxedos, one had a white tuxedo with a dark shirt underneath and black pants, while the other had a blue tuxedo, a black shirt underneath, and black pants. They looked dashing, so dashing that I could swear I would have fallen for them if I were not already married.
