Chapter 199 Away From Home

  • Jordan didn’t speak to me all the way back home, and no matter how I tried, I also could not find the perfect words to express how sorry I was. The tension in the car was suffocating, and the fact that he was constantly getting angry at me was beginning to affect me as well. However, after many failed attempts to speak, I decided to keep quiet. He needed to calm down before I could talk to him, so that's what I had to do - wait in apprehension. The car came to a halt at the house, and I thought, okay, it was time.
  • "Jordan," I turned so I could look at him. But he completely ignored me and stepped out of the car. My heart sank, and I felt a sharp pain. He had never ignored me like that before, and experiencing it hurt more than I had imagined.

Jordan still didn't turn around or say anything to me. He just walked towards our bedroom with a stiff back. I sighed and followed slowly, keeping my distance, until I reached the room. I realized that it was also dark. Only the gentle glow of the stars above illuminated the room, and a foreign scent hit me. I sniffed and relaxed, liking it a lot. It was different, unlike anything I had smelled in that house. It made me wonder what it was. But the room was dark, so I couldn't see what it was. Just as the beautiful scent wafted in the air, I also noticed some delicacies that made my stomach grumble in response. With that, I turned to the wall where the switch was supposed to be and located it. I turned it on, and immediately, the room lit up. I gasped at the sight that followed.
