Chapter 7 Are You the Boss of Coco Investments?

  • Raven said lightly, "No, we prefer to have a destination wedding and travel to the places we want to visit!"
  • Aria nodded with a smile, then said respectfully, "Very well. You don't have to worry about the funding."
  • Raven interrupted in a low voice, "We will take care of the funding ourselves. If we have a lot of money, we will travel the world extravagantly, but if we have little money, we can still travel on a budget. No matter what, we'll still be happy!"
  • After hearing what Raven had said, Joseph felt compelled to learn more about her. He suddenly admired this impassive girl, and hope rose in his heart. Additionally, he hoped that this girl could make his most beloved grandson live a happy life in the future.
  • Elias was also satisfied with Raven's answer, so he stood up and said, "I'm done eating. Raven, we'll be leaving soon."
  • She stood up and replied, "I'm done too."
  • Hence, Elias took Raven's hand, and bowed to Joseph.
  • He said, "Grandpa, I've let you worry about me for so many years. Now that I finally have a family, please rest assured, Grandpa, I will support my own family in the future."
  • Joseph was deeply affected by Elias' words, and he felt a pang in his heart. Tears welled up in his eyes as his voice trembled, "O-Okay."
  • In this way, he had fulfilled what Tessa had asked of him back then.
  • Raven also bowed to grandpa and said, "Don't worry, Grandpa, me and Elias will be fine."
  • "O-Okay!" Joseph was even more moved.
  • Elias and Raven left shortly after.
  • Under the sycamore tree in the yard, Elias stopped and asked, "Will you be envious?"
  • "What for?" Raven wondered.
  • "Will you envy everything Cayden gave Miss Aria?"
  • Raven smiled and shook her head. "I won't."
  • Material wealth was not important to Raven. She yearned for family affection and love throughout her childhood and adulthood. Although she had never met her father, she knew he disapproved of her and her mother. Her mother, who loved her, died in a car accident when she was just over a month old. Thus, she lacked both fatherly and motherly love and craved what was missing from her life.
  • During the first thirteen years that Raven resided in Gideon and Lori's house, she was blissfully unaware and content with her life. However, they favored their children over her. However, after the age of thirteen, she realized the truth, and consequently, she suffered. Nevertheless, Raven still stayed at the Lancaster Residence for warmth and affection. It was not until something like this happened yesterday that she decided to leave. All of her pain stemmed from relationships, and no one understood how important feelings were in her life. Material wealth meant absolutely nothing to her.
  • Raven could not even spend a hundred per week on campus because she hardly did anything other than eat. She spent most of her time in the dormitory working on her programming. Besides that, Raven also went to the library to search for professional help books. So, she had no time to spend money because programming and reading had taken up all her time.
  • "We'll stay in a hotel at night and go to Denmark tomorrow. Wait for me here. I'll go pack up!" Elias said.
  • "I have luggage too." Raven wanted to go upstairs together.
  • "I'll bring it down for you!"
  • She nodded. As soon as Elias left, Iris rushed out from behind a wall.
  • Iris' expression was cold, her chin was lifted, and she approached Raven arrogantly. She said aggressively, "Raven, did you hear what Old Mr. Joseph just said? Aria is going to marry into the Mortimer Family."
  • "So what?" Raven raised her eyebrows.
  • "So, the Mortimer Family will definitely give the megaproject to the Lancaster Family, and we don't need you at all. Since you didn't play any useful role, you should immediately return my bungalow and sixty million to me."
  • She looked at Iris indifferently and didn't bother to say a word to her. Once she cut off this family relationship, she would never be a doormat again.
  • Elias packed his documents and his luggage, took Raven's backpack, and went downstairs. As he descended the stairs, he saw two figures with their backs to him under the tree. When the wind blew, the light pink sycamore flower landed on Raven's shoulder and slid down gently.
  • Iris was about to pressure Raven further when she suddenly saw a figure approaching them. Iris looked out of the corner of her eye and saw that it was Elias. Her tone changed as her eyes glinted, and she whispered, "Raven, I think the Lancaster Family has treated you well. For so many years, have we treated you badly? Have I? Didn't I give way to you all the time? But now, you took our bungalow and sixty million from the Lancasters. Do you know how much you're hurting us by doing this? It's not about the money, you know? What you did was hurt the feelings of our whole family."
  • "Did I hurt you?" Raven smiled and sneered.
  • Elias frowned and walked over toward them.
  • Raven turned her head when she heard footsteps and saw Elias. Suddenly, she understood why Iris was aggressive at first but then softened.
  • When she looked at Iris, she saw a provocative and arrogant light flash in Iris' eyes.
  • Then, Raven glanced at Iris indifferently and asked Elias, "Are we going to the hotel now?"
  • Elias nodded.
  • Meanwhile, Raven waited for Elias to ask something in the car. Still, he remained silent the entire ride, so she didn't bother to explain. Regardless of the nature of the relationship or trust between two people, it took time to gradually build it up. Since Elias liked Iris, it was natural for him to believe what Iris said, but she didn't care.
  • Elias tactfully booked two rooms and let Raven rest in the hotel. As he led her into the room, he couldn't help but ask her, "Did you take Miss Iris' bungalow and sixty million from the Lancasters?"
  • Raven admitted frankly, "I did!"
  • "Well. Have a good rest!" Elias walked away.
  • Raven didn't care, either. She stepped out of the shower, set the laptop down on the bed, and began tapping on the keyboard with both hands. She quickly switched the laptop to system mode, and the codes on the screen appeared one by one as her slender fingers rapidly tapped the keyboard.
  • Elias called and invited Iris to meet him, but she had no intention of doing so at first. Then, he brought up the bungalow and sixty million, and she came. After all, Raven did take her bungalow and sixty million from the Lancaster Family.
  • When they met, Elias pushed a check for sixty million toward Iris. He said lightly, "Miss Aria, this is sixty million."
  • Iris was shocked. "Um..."
  • "Can I exchange your bungalow for cash?" Elias asked.
  • Iris frowned and pondered quickly.
  • "Is ten million enough for that bungalow?" Elias inquired.
  • "Enough." Iris blurted out.
  • Hence, Elias took the check from his pocket, filled it in with the amount of ten million, and handed it to Iris. "Please accept it!"
  • That being said, he stood up and walked away.
  • "Wait a minute!" She hurriedly stopped Elias, who turned his head and looked at her lightly.
  • Iris was surprised when she saw the company name on the check. "Are you the boss of Coco Investments?"
