Chapter 23 Cara's Outburst

• Keith opened the door of his apartment and they walked in. As he switched on the lights, Milo jumped down from Cara’s arms and rushed to grab the yellow ball from the couch. Keith didn’t spare a glance at Cara and sauntered straight to his room.
• Cara just stood in her place and watched his retreating back until she heard a loud thud of his door. She blinked her eyes, finding herself alone in the small luxurious living room. Milo walked to her with a ball between his teeth and gave his best puppy eyes. Cara took the ball, smiling sadly, throwing it in a different direction, and Milo rushed while she walked into her room and closed the door.
• It was too much for her to take in and she stood against the door, resting her back. She liked Keith for his generosity and kindness towards her, but Natalie was right. Keith was using her as a rebound to get over Natalie and her chest grew heavy, realising she wasn’t important to anyone. Extreme sadness engulfed her, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
