Chapter 6
- 6
- Lila stayed back in Kyle's bedroom after he left to take a shower. She was standing in his walk-in closet, removing clothes for him. Her hands lingered on the rack holding his shirts. She picked a shirt out and slid her hands into it, wearing it to her chest and inhaling his scent.
- "Mmm!" Moaning, she pressed the sleeve to her cheek and smiled.
- She always imagined him unbuttoning his shirt in front of her, while she laid naked in his bed. Kyle made her feel things he was not even remotely aware of. He made her thighs shiver and heart caught speed.
- "I wish you could feel my emotions, Kyle. I love you so much. Why don't you see me as other women in your life?" Lila pouted at her reflection as she checked herself in the mirror.
- She had an enticing figure. Heads turned to look at her whenever she went out in public. It was on a daily basis that men approached her to ask her out. But she had saved herself for Kyle Panther, her childhood love.
- She had a face only she intended to show him. Feelings only he needed to see. The man, nevertheless, was internally scarred. His mother's leave had left him with grudges that he held against every other woman he met. Kyle only permitted them to climb into his bed, not beyond that.
- Lila was an exception though. She was allowed as close as she was because he thought she was his best friend.
- Lila wanted to be more. She regarded her figure from a side angle and hugged his shirt tighter.
- "What are you doing?" A sense of mortification washed over her, realizing Kyle was standing on the threshold gaping at her with knitted brows.
- She looked at him and tremors erupted within her. With just a towel around his hips, he appeared rough and inviting.
- Had they been married, Lila would have pulled the towel away and went down on her knees to pleasure him.
- She forced a smile at him as she tried to reason, "I... I am thinking about how to style an oversized shirt into a dress. What do you think?
- She lied. She was a fashion influencer and hoped Kyle wouldn't look through her. However, his fixed gaze made her heart race. That indifferent look on his face was reserved for people he disliked.... And people he suspected.
- Her nerves pinched tight, seeing him exuding an air of frustration. She couldn't afford it. It took her forever to hide her sinister nature and wear a pleasant face to win him over. She couldn't let a moment of stupidity ruin her years of effort.
- Removing his shirt, she put it back on the rack and gathered the clothes she had chosen for him.
- "Here are your clothes."
- Kyle didn't move. He kept staring at her like he was reading her through.
- "My shirt..." He said in a hard tone.
- Lila was prepared to lie more to defend herself when he chuckled and ruffled her hair in the same way an elder brother would do to tease his young sister.
- "It looked good on you, chubs. I will allow you to use my clothes for experiments for your reels on condition that you'll pay me ten thousand bucks per item."
- Lila felt a weight lift off her chest. Kyle hadn't seen what she was doing actually. Having thanked her stars, she pushed him out of her way and came down to the kitchen. She had prepared his favorite food.
- Although Kyle considered her as a friend, Lila handled his matters like a wife. She decided what he would wear at public functions, designed his wardrobe for grand parties, and even prepared food every evening for dinner and brought it to him. She had grown accustomed to taking care of him like a husband. It wouldn't be soon before she officially became his wife.
- "Mrs. Lila Kyle Panther. Sounds so nice! Can't wait for that day when I would say 'I do!'" She grinned and happily served food on two plates.
- As she took the plates to the dining table, a maid informed her of a guest. Lila looked up at the staircase leading to Kyle's room. He was still taking time to get ready. She decided to receive the guest.
- Kyle's house was a pretty four story mansion. With pretty dazzling chandeliers adoring the ceiling, dim sconces on the walls, her path glowed with warm golden lights. The minute Lila arrived in the living room, a fit of rage shot up her spine.
- A gorgeous woman her age was scrolling through her phone, sitting comfortably in the living room. Her long hair cascaded down her back, framing her heart shaped face. Lila recognized her in an instant and her mood veered sharply to anger. She was the model Kyle was seen going to a restaurant last night.
- "Wasn't one night with Kyle enough that she's here for more? As his future wife, I disapprove of him having so many illicit affairs." Lila muttered.
- "Gosh, Kyle, how many more women will you make me hurt? I am still rueful for breaking the hand of your last girlfriend. I thought that was the last time I would have to use force to get rid of your affairs! Seems like I've got a long way to go." She grimaced before she came stomping her feet to the couch and yanked the young woman out.
- "Get out of here." Held by the elbow, Lila dragged her towards the door.
- "Who are you, bitch? And who gives you the right to throw me out. I'm here for Kyle. He invited me." The model hissed, and the way she said Kyle's name stoked Lila's fury.
- The living room was dimmed. Kyle wasn't a lover of brightness and thus his housekeeper made sure to reduce the lightning before he arrived home every evening.
- "Ouch! What are you doing? I will complain to Kyle about you." The model winced as Lila took advantage of the dimness.
- She dragged her in a dark corner and twisted her arm behind her back. She twisted it a little more, making the model wail in pain. Pressing her against the wall, Lila snatched a handful of her hair in a merciless hold.
- "Listen, little whóre, consider yourself lucky that Kyle chose you for a night. But he doesn't do a woman twice. So whatever he told you the other night about meeting him at his place, forget it. I'm sure he was drunk when he invited you."
- "I..."
- Lila pressed her face further into the wall as she whispered into her ear in a dangerous undertone, "If you love your face, you will take heed. Don't try to establish contact with him again. Forget Kyle. He's mine!"
- "I'm going to let you go and you will get out of the main door. Don't you dare scream for help or do anything stupid. Do you get it?" The model nodded her head between sobs.
- She trembled like a leaf under Lila's hold. That spoke enough about her submission. She wasn't going to be a bother. Lila smirked in satisfaction. She slowly pulled her hands back, just enough to test the shivering young woman. When she was assured she wasn't going to be deceived once she stepped back completely, she smirked wider and moved back, allowing respite to her.
- "Good girl. Now get lost."
- The model hurried to leave, "Wait." Lila stopped her. She dangerously glared at her and whispered in her face, "If Kyle tries to contact you again then—"
- "I know... I know... I will avoid him. I won't meet him again." The young model cowered away.
- "Good." Happy with her answer, Lila let her go.
- She watched her scurry out, tripping on her way. Lila guffawed at her clumsiness while folding her hands.
- "Who was that?" She ceased all motions as Kyle stopped behind her.
- Just as he tried to peek outside, Lila whirled around, wrapping her arms around his neck. Kyle's smile shrunk. He wasn't comfortable having such moments with Lila. He considered her as his sister, and having your sister stand so close to you, with hands around your neck, her lips touching your throat— it made him feel awkward.
- He respectfully stepped out of her hold and asked about the visitor again.
- "They were here for me. No one important." Lila lied and hid her disappointment behind a smile.
- "The dinner is ready." She motioned towards the dining room with her gaze.
- "Great." Kyle walked ahead while Lila heaved a sigh of intimate longing seeing his retreating form.
- 'How long will I have to threaten girls to stay away from you, future husband? Your wife-to-be is under your nose. When will you recognize that?' She mused as she dreamily smiled.
