  • A seagull landed on the sand and pecked at a bit of dead fish that had washed up on the shore. It bobbed its head and screeched out the signal to protect its dinner. Startled from his nap, Julian yawned and opened his eyes. Above him was a clear blue sky. The sun glistened off the edge of an airplane. Was that a sign? Was it time to go home?
  • Sera sighed. He rolled onto his side to face her and caressed her cheek. “Was it good for you?” he asked.
  • She yawned and contentedly sighed, then her eyes popped open. “You bastard!”
