Chapter 13 Tangled Lies
- Until that point, Stefan had not been sure, but now he knew Aria was lying. She had that same innocent look in her big blue eyes that Richard Morgan used to get right before he betrayed someone. No, she was definitely lying; he just was not sure why.
- If he had any sense, he would hand this entire mess over to his security team and let them investigate Aria Morgan. They would be able to find out whether he was being set up. Obviously, he had no sense. He had spent the last three weeks abroad, and it was the only thing that had kept him away from her this long. Nothing was going to keep him away longer. Instead, he had come here determined to find out what she was doing and what she had been searching for that night.
- At first, he had not even recognized her. When he pulled up in the well kept yard, he had seen a tall blond man talking to a girl outside one of the stables. Only when she turned slightly did he realize that the girl was Aria. As he watched, she leaned over and kissed the man. It was a light kiss, but Stefan had felt a fury rise inside him, primal and raw. And at that point, he knew he was not going to walk away.
