Chapter 104 An Interrupted Moment
- Her fingers traveled down until they reached his belt buckle. She wanted to push this further, and she knew he did too from the way he groaned, but she hesitated. Her life had been a series of rejections, and another would devastate her. The sudden shrill ringing of her cell phone jerked her back to reality. She pulled back from him and, before he could reach for her, she fumbled for her purse. It was Eleanor.
- "Ignore it," Gray said, his voice rough. He laid a warm hand on her thigh, exerted a gentle pressure toward her.
- Tempting, tempting, but if she gave in, Eleanor would demand to know why Kate had not answered her call on a day as important as today. She was throwing Arthur a birthday party, Kate was going, and there would be no way to avoid facing her there. "I can not." Kate put the phone to her ear. "Hello, Eleanor."
