• I could hear her voice calling out to me; it was the voice of Mae, and it was clear enough that she was in danger. I immediately sprang into action. I was about to jump through the window, only to feel a tight grip around my hand, stopping me from moving an inch. Kealos stopped me; his gaze was intense, which brought cold shivers down my spine as I watched him with so much intensity. My gaze searched; I wanted to be certain why he had stopped me in the first place, which made me feel quite uneasy. I felt my heart race so fast when he pulled me hard against his chest.
