• “After I explained this, she had seemed even more distraught than she had first been when she came into my office. She had pleaded for a way for me to help her get the locket, but my hands were tied. She left after making the declaration that she would no longer marry you, but she would be marrying your brother instead. What happened, Zach?” Attorney Edward asked, his tone confused.
• I ran a hand through my hair, frustrated. “I have no idea… I honestly have no idea what she was thinking or why she’s doing this. I mean, up until I left her yesterday, everything was fine and we were making plans for the future… and now? This is a surprise because I have been waiting to hear from her since yesterday. We were at a cafe when I got a call from the hospital that my daughter had been in an accident. She was in the restroom at that moment so I had left a message for her, telling her about what had happened and informing her where I was. I had even left my number, so I have been waiting for her to show or at least since yesterday,” I replied.
