• Joan was going on about some project they were doing in class, while Ella was telling us about the new girl who had just joined her class. Zach and I listened, chiming in with questions here and there, but mostly just enjoying the sound of their excited voices.
• When we pulled up to the school, both girls gave us quick kisses on the cheek before hopping out of the car and running toward the entrance, waving at us as they disappeared inside.
