• As she took our order, I couldn't help but notice her eyes lingering on Zach. There was a hint of something more than professional interest in her gaze—something that made me uncomfortable. Her smile was just a bit too warm when she looked at him, and when Zach placed his hand over mine in a loving gesture, I saw the flicker of jealousy in her eyes.
• Despite her pleasant tone and efficient service, the way she skewered me with that jealous gaze left a sour taste in my mouth. It was disconcerting to be on the receiving end of such unprovoked hostility, especially from someone I didn’t even know.
