• “You are both late!” Mrs Hilton shouted, looking at Ivy disgustedly, and then directed her attention to her son.
• “Sorry Mum, we were caught up in traffic,” Jay defended. Ivy was surprised because she never expected him to have stood up for her since she was the reason they arrived late.
• Mrs. Hilton left them both, while Jay gave Ivy an eye gesture that suggested that she should be calm, even though he didn't say it with his mouth, his eyes were assuring.
