• “Hm…your newfound friend seems to be extra kind,” Mrs. Smith admired, keeping Ivy’s company, while she was doing the dishes.
• “Ivy has a friend? That’s wonderful!” Her father cut in as he came in to get water.
• As she heard her father walk in, she immediately gave her mother a disappointed look because she knew she was going to have to answer some more questions since her mother couldn't find a better time to discuss Peter.
