Chapter 31 The Close Call

• The doorbell chimed again, and I stood up. Different thoughts rang in my head. One of them was who could be at my door this early, and for what purpose. I spoke with Jake this morning, and he didn't make mention of coming around. Besides, Jake doesn't come to my place at random, without first informing me.
• I checked the time again, it was now 7:30 AM. I picked up the flower vase on the table, in case I needed to protect myself and headed outside my bedroom. I tiptoed to the front door and peeped through the doorhole. The person I saw made my already tense emotions relax. It was Clara. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
• "Finally". She said as she walked in through the opened door. "It seemed like you never wanted to open the door .". She added.
