Chapter 47

• I've had visitors all day, my brother has practically taken up residence in my hospital room next to Anne. Evie and Ercan have been making the rounds asking about the baby; but no one has dared to hold a conversation, not even a basic one.
• It's as if time has stopped, it's as if my mind is somehow in automatic mode, answering "yes" or "no" to any question; tasting a bite or two of food when the time is right.
• I have given all my effort to keep my system calm; I have betrayed my emotions, putting aside my pain, in order to attend to my son's health.
