• I had seen many challenges in life, and I had overcome them. But my mate was a whole new challenge, a different kind. I had asked myself over and over what I wanted with her, but I had not been able to answer that. I thought about her by my side, and it didn't seem so bad. I thought about her away from me, and no thought had ever irritated me the way that one did. And I was ready to deal with anyone who would dare try to take her away from me. She was mine.
