• The hospital door swung open as the doctors hurriedly wheeled both of them into the operating room to extract the bullet. Izzy was truly a lifesaver, and I couldn't shake off the memories of the chaos that had unfolded just thirty minutes earlier. Izzy had arrived quickly, accompanied by some police officers, but they were too late to catch Alex, who had already made his escape.
• She took charge, helping me with Chloe and her brother, and rushed us to the hospital without a moment to spare. Seeing her was a relief; I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me because without her, I might have lost two people who meant the world to me. As I pressed my bloodied hands against my face, she looked at me with a reassuring gaze. "They will be fine, I promise," she said, but deep down, I felt like a burden to Zavion and Chloe.
