Chapter 28 The Imposter
- Zavion POV
- Zoe stood before my mother once more, but this time she was introduced as the girl I had fallen in love with years ago, a revelation that took everyone by surprise. The day I shared that Zoe was actually Zee, the reactions were priceless, especially when Ian rushed to embrace her, his gaze reflecting the same affection he had for Zoe all those years ago. Over the past three months, my relationship with Ian had blossomed, and I was finally ready to welcome him into our circle, appreciating the comfort his presence brought. However, things seemed different between Izzy and Zoe; they no longer shared the same easy camaraderie. It was puzzling to see Zoe pulling away, as if she no longer felt at home, struggling even to locate the fridge in our house, which hinted that something was amiss with her return.
- "Zavion," Izzy whispered, drawing my attention. I wasn't sure why we were keeping our voices low, but I decided to play along. "Something feels off here," she confided, prompting me to turn and face her with curiosity.
