Chapter 9 Stop

  • Hearing that, Janice frowned and looked down at the photo. Then, she raised her head to examine Daniel and Denise.
  • He's right.
  • She had never noticed this before, but Daniel actually looked like Denise a little. She had never noticed this before, but now with her new knowledge, they looked more and more alike, as if they came from the same mold.
  • When Daniel saw that, he immediately grew anxious. He feared that she might catch on to something, so cold sweat rolled down his back.
  • "Mom, let's go play with the guns, okay?" the child said out of the blue.
  • She immediately diverted her mother's attention. Janice also didn't think much about that and felt it was probably a nice coincidence. Daniel felt as if he were pardoned as he couldn't help but wipe some cold sweat away.
  • This was even more unbearable than killing his enemies out on the battlefield! He could even imagine it.
  • If Janice really notices…
  • Daniel assumed she would flip in an instant and leave with Denise. Then, he could never legally see Denise ever again for the rest of his life.
  • The three came to the stall where toy guns were used to pop balloons.
  • Daniel tried once. He managed to hit the bullseye and got the biggest prize.
  • "Dad, you're so amazing!" Denise clapped in enthusiasm, hopping about.
  • As for Janice, no matter how much she aimed, she couldn't hit anything. She mumbled, "Is this gun faulty?"
  • "It's not the gun's problem; you're holding the gun in the wrong position."
  • Daniel was behind Janice, standing extremely close to her. Even Janice could feel the thick aura of masculine hormones on her face.
  • In an instant, her body tensed up. "Lower your shoulders and lift your arms. Focus on this mark and look at your target. The three points should be in a straight line."
  • Daniel seemed to not notice it as he patted Janice on the shoulder, then took her hand and lifted it. He was teaching her while leading her by the hand.
  • After that, when he noticed Janice's murderous glare, he finally came to his senses and realized that he had overstepped the boundaries.
  • "Sorry, I did that out of habit," Daniel hastily explained, fearing that Janice would misunderstand.
  • Janice's pretty face was filled with a chilly look, and without another word, she fired and hit the bullseye.
  • "Wow, Mom hit it!" Denise immediately shouted. Janice was stunned, for she never thought she would actually hit the mark. Then, she glared at Daniel and said in a low voice, "I'll let you off this once."
  • Daniel put on a bitter smile.
  • In the hospital, after Fletcher woke up, he was informed that he could never stand up again, and he couldn't seek revenge either. He was so pissed that he kept roaring and almost smashed everything he could get his hands on.
  • "Dad! Why! Why can't we just kill Daniel!"
  • Cameron sat at the side, his heart aching for his son. "Fletcher, the Sky Project is crucial right now. Within this period, the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce must not produce any negative news, so please just be patient. I promise you that as soon as the Sky Project is complete, I'll capture Daniel and put him in front of you. You can do with him as you please then."
  • Fletcher's eyes were blood-red as he raged, "But I can't wait that long! I want to kill Daniel right now."
  • Seeing his son like this, Cameron felt his heart break. "The Doyle Family cannot do anything right now, and he also has Tigre watching his back. We should endure it for now."
  • As soon as he finished speaking, Fletcher turned around and said coldly, "Dad, then I'll come up with a plan so that Tigre can't protect him. We just have to do it in secret."
  • Cameron frowned deeply. As he looked at the sorry state his son was in, he couldn't decline at all. "All right."
  • Daniel accompanied Janice and Denise as they enjoyed themselves for the whole afternoon at the amusement park.
  • At around 7.00PM, they found a restaurant nearby for dinner. Then, they went shopping at the night market in the area.
  • Janice went on a shopping spree and bought a lot of stuff. Then, she asked Daniel to watch her bags while she bought Denise ice cream. Daniel looked at the bulging bags at his feet. There was exasperation on his face. He finally understood why most men didn't like to go shopping with women. I only serve as an extra pair of hands.
  • Also, out of everything she bought, none of them were bought for him.
  • That was the one thing he was most upset about.
  • Just then, a sobbing, anxious voice sounded in the distance. "Denise… Denise…"
  • Daniel's heart shuddered as he hastily got up. He dashed over there like a streak of lightning.
  • When he arrived at the scene, Janice's face was filled with panic as she ran haphazardly. With a stagger, she was about to fall.
  • Daniel immediately rushed over and supported her. "What's wrong? Where's Denise?"
  • Janice looked up, her beautiful eyes filled with moisture. When she saw Daniel, she felt like she just saw her single sliver of hope as she pointed toward the front and said in a trembling voice, "Denise! Denise is taken away! H-Hurry up and stop them!"
  • Just now, she had just put Denise down to pay for the items when she realized somebody had taken Denise and was running away.
  • "How dare they!" Daniel's eyes immediately turned cold.
  • His voice was frightening, filled with murderous intent.
  • Setting Janice aside, he instantly disappeared from the spot as he dashed in the direction Janice pointed at.
  • Janice got onto her feet, shaken. She saw that there were police on patrol nearby, so she dashed over to them to ask for help.
  • Daniel ran out of the compounds of the night market. The crowd began thinning out. Two ruffians were running with all their might, one in the lead and the other following behind. One of them was holding Denise, who was struggling with everything she could. The ruffian had a hand over her mouth.
  • "Boohoo… D-Dad… Mom… Boohoo…"
  • Denise's sobs were muffled as huge drops of tears fell from her eyes. Her sobs were filled with fear and panic.
  • "Darn, go faster! We're almost there!" They would be reaching the junction of the alley soon. The man who had Denise in his arms growled at his companion behind him.
  • In an instant, there was a cold sensation on the back of his neck. The sudden chill caused his scalp to go numb.
  • Boom!
  • The companion behind him was flung right past him. With a crisp slap, the companion was sent crashing into the depths of the alley. There were no more sounds from him.
  • He widened his eyes in terror, and before he could react, he felt the weight missing from his arms.
  • A voice sounded in his ears, so cold and terrifying that it seemed to be coming from hell.
  • "Go to hell." A kick landed on top of his head. With a grunt, he fell forward, his head crashing heavily onto the ground. In an instant, he was motionless.
  • In her fear, Denise looked up to see that it was Daniel. Her jewel-like eyes instantly watered up, and with a wail, she began weeping. Her weeps were extremely pitiful.
  • "Dad… Boohoo… I was so scared…"
  • Daniel's heart shuddered, and in an instant, his cold expression melted into a gentle one as he lightly patted his daughter on the back.
  • "You're okay now. I'm here."
  • Denise's sobs turned louder, and Daniel also felt even more sorry in his heart. Someone actually kidnapped his daughter while he was around.
  • This is the biggest mistake I've ever made in his life.
  • Just then, Daniel's gaze turned cold as he looked at the dark alley.
  • More than ten ruffians emerged from the shadows, none of them friendly looking at all.
  • The bald man at the lead sneered, "So you're Daniel Hardon?"
  • After that, he looked down at the corpse with the head beaten in, lying at Daniel's feet.
  • He frowned. "You're quite skilled, aren't you? You killed two of my brothers just like that."
  • Daniel didn't even have to think about it. This bald man was behind Denise's kidnapping. Hearing that, Daniel allowed a murderous look to surface in his eyes.
  • To him, Denise was his everything!
  • Every powerful figure drew a line somewhere!
  • Once crossed, only death awaited the offender!
  • Daniel whispered, "Denise, close your eyes. I'm going to beat up some bad guys."
  • Choking, Denise looked up at Daniel with her watery eyes. She pursed her lips and said, "Then… Dad… Be careful."
  • With that, she obediently covered her eyes.
  • When the bald man saw it, he wasn't frightened in the slightest as he said calmly, "Why, aren't you curious why I'd do this, or who sent me?"
  • "I'll find out on my own, whereas you will die!"
  • With that, a terrible chill emanated from Daniel's body which took the entire area by storm.
  • His gaze turned so cold that it penetrated bones, and his murderous intent invaded the hearts of everyone present!
  • The bald man's expression shifted. He actually felt a strong sense of danger, and goosebumps were all over his body!
  • He lowered his head to look at his watch, then growled, "Get him!"
  • As soon as he finished speaking, the underlings beside him immediately went for Daniel.
  • Boom!
  • A fearful wave blasted forth from Daniel and flung the crowd away!
  • The bald man's underlings all grunted, then with blood splattering from their mouths, they fell onto the ground.
  • This scene caused the bald man to change his expression drastically.
  • What is going on?! Daniel didn't even move, but my underlings are all down already! F*ck, that guy actually lied to me!
  • Without hesitation, the bald man turned and fled into the depths of the alley.
  • In an instant, like a ghost, Daniel appeared in front of him and instantly choked him at the neck, lifting him into the air.
  • "Now die." There was no emotion in Daniel's eyes. His voice was cold and terrifying, as if he were a killing machine.
  • Shocked, the bald man kicked his feet, but he couldn't struggle free no matter what he did.
  • Just then, a delicate shout sounded.
  • "Stop!"
